I moved into a new apartment and I am suspecting that the prepared meter has some outstanding debts on it.
Reason why my units finishes earlier than expected.
That’s why I brought it here to know how far.

EKEDC is N1000 ÷ 35 = 28.5 units
Dunno about AEDC

Bedc 1000 Naira is about 22.5 units

.. not necessarily.
I learned that the tariff may vary with the location and service provider.
The rate in my area is approximately the same as yours, ie a thousand naira buys me about 14 units only.

Not really as the prices varies depending on the area.
Areas that falls under the 33kva power supply pay as much as #80 per unit cos they use at least 15hrs electricity daily, areas under the 11kva power supply still pay around #50-60 per unit cos they use less than 12hrs daily so I'm guessing your area falls under the high tariff plan. My 1k recharge also gives me 13. something units cos my area is under the 33kva line

@op, its very easy to know. Any day you go to any of their office, give them the meter number to check. If there's outstanding bill, they will tell you.
In fact, before you move into any new apartment, its important you get the meter number and go and check to avoid unnecessary misunderstanding with the landlord later.

Different phase system are billed differently. That figure looks fair enough.

IKEDC is 20.4 units without outstanding debt

Here in warri, they gave us free prepaid meter, at first 1000 gives 20units,but right now it has gone down to 16units, we paid debt of over 200k cos dy migrated our outstanding debt in estimated billing into it

outstanding bill is the cause. Until it's cleared, you'll keep getting 7 units for 1k. I think for every 1k you recharge, there's a certain percentage the Disco takes which covers for the outstanding bill

It depends on the company and your band.
We have different bands.

Not always the case please, Unit depends on the band.
If you are using band A, You will be paying more than those using band B.

This is not a general unit… it varies, under ikedc there’s band A, B,C and so on…. Band A pays more for electricity than the rest

They have different tariffs for different areas

Call their customer care to find out the tariff in your area then multiple it by the Unit you got or divide the units by the amount you recharge

If it gets equal result then no need to panic

But if it gets something that doesn't match up, then you can call for inspection on your meter

#1500 give me 19 unit. Though light is stable here in Osun state

Last week, I bought 102 units for 10,000..
I was confused cos the last one I bought in January ending, 15k gave me 206 units

AEDC just dey do anyhow

PHED just gave me 80.0 for 5k
