As a Regional Integration and development body, DAWN Commission routinely seeks out potential opportunities and measures to support the governments of the Southwest states in actualising their developmental aspirations. In line with this, DAWN Commission has commenced conversations with the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (@EBID_BIDC ) about the various funding opportunities which can be explored by the states... in implementing critical projects and programmes which have hitherto been limited by the paucity of funds. The Director General of, the DAWN Commission, Dr. @SeyeOyeleye, shared some of the proposed projects that can potentially transform economic productivity... ...across the six Southwest states. Some of which include the Araromi road project in Ondo state to Akobo in Epe Lagos state, a 40km coastal road that has immense potential for transforming the economy of Ondo and invariably, Ekiti state. It is hoped that once the Araromi road project is executed, more industries will spread into the hinterlands as an improvement on the current over-concentration of industries in the Lagos/Ogun axis. The Director General also spoke about the Ogun state Agro-cargo airport project and many more. The EBID Vice president, Dr. Olagunju O. Ashimolowo, (FCA, MBA, CISA, CRISC, CIA, expressed particular interest in the Araromi road project and further meetings have been... ...scheduled towards the actualisation of this proposal. During the meeting, the DAWN Director General formally invited the EBID team to participate in the forthcoming Investment Promotion Agencies conference, facilitated by DAWN Commission, holding in Akure this April. The conference will have in attendance, all investment promotion agencies across the six Southwest states, private sector stakeholders and the host state Governor.
