There must be quite a few friends who wear glasses, how many pairs of glasses do you have? So after so many optometry tests, will you read the prescription for glasses? Can you understand the optometry sheet? The following editor will teach you to get new skills, and briefly explain the abbreviated symbols in glasses prescriptions:

(1) Representation of the degree of glasses:
S: Indicates a spherical lens, (-) for myopia, (+) for hyperopia and presbyopia;
C: Indicates a cylindrical lens, used for astigmatism;
DS: used to mark the optical power of the spherical lens;
DC: used to mark the focal power of the cylindrical lens;
AX: (AXIS) indicates the axis of the cylinder. The axis of astigmatism is based on the angle formed by the cylinder axis and the horizontal line. The marking method is currently using the TABO marking method.
The horizontal direction is not called by 0°, but by 180°, and the degree symbol "°" can also be omitted.

(2)Prism degree representation:
P: Triangular prism, △: Represents the prism unit, B: Represents the direction of the prism base, BI: Base inward (the base is close to the nasal side), BO: Base outward (the base is close to the temporal side), BU: Base up, BD: Basal down.

(3) Others: PD: interpupillary distance, Add: addition degree, for bifocals, OD or RE or R for the right eye, OS or LE or L for the left eye, OU or BE for both eyes. Example of general glasses prescription: R: —2.50/-2.00DC×95 or (—2.50/-2.00×95 ) L: —2.00/-1.50DC×85 or (—2.00/-1.50×.85 ) PD: 63mm The above prescription shows that the right eye is 250 degrees myopia zone - 200 degrees astigmatism, the astigmatism axis is at 95 degrees, the left eye is 200 degrees myopia zone - 150 degrees astigmatism, the astigmatism axis is at 85 degrees, and the interpupillary distance is 63 mm. So, will you read the optometry sheet? No longer have to worry about not being able to read glasses prescriptions!
