LEGAL OFFICER/COMPANY SECRETARY
We are seeking organized, diligent, and responsible individual to join our growing team, to take overall responsibility for the coordination of all legal and company secretarial matters relating to the company and ensure the provision of adequate advisory services on all legal issues.

LOCATION: Surulere, Lagos

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identify and manage legal risks, manage the company’s relationships with external solicitors and ensure that the company is properly represented in all litigations.
• Review draft MOUs Service Level Agreement SLAs, legal agreements and security documentation between the company and external parties
• Provide legal advice on the company’s transactions and other matters concerning the company
• Attend various kinds of meetings, take records and prepare minutes of management meetings for onward circulation
• Draft and solidify agreements, contracts, deeds and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights
• Provide statutory Company Secretarial services and act as Secretary to the Board of Directors and all standing committees of the company
• Provide advice on, interpret and communicate all legal issues, opinions, laws, rules, guidelines, statutes, especially as regards company’s businesses, to staff and management
• Provide firm but fair opinion on all legal matters to the company
• Liaise with legal departments of external organizations where the situation arises.
• Liaise with government agencies for the smooth running of the company (such as filing of papers at CAC, etc.
• Carry out secretarial duties and filing of annual returns for the company
• Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance
• Give accurate and timely counsel to management in a variety of legal topics (labor law, partnerships, finance etc.)
• Conduct work with integrity and responsibility
• Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation
• Perform any related tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and B.L
• A higher degree or professional qualification such as ICSAN will be an added advantage
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of proven post call practice experience.
• Must have strong Advocacy skills, good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite-word and Excel
• Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of the company
• Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity
• Sound judgment and ability to analyse situations and information
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
