Hey some of us went through the entire NNPC 2011 recruitment process and are awaiting the final outcome, here u are trying to get in through the back door. How do you want us to feel, when you are trying to take 1 of our spot on the final list?
Re: ...... by jamebex(m): 9:50am On Sep 16, 2011
You dont have to be rude while asking for help coz anyone who want to answer is only helping and have nothing to lose if he/she doesn't reply you. To your question you dont need to be discouraged. If you have someone filling for you, you probably have a chance. I am a biochemistry undergrad i dont think biochemists are really needed in Oil company. I might be wrong though. just my 2 cent.
Other veteran can add
ciao

Dainy1 let me have your email address . Are you a guy or gal
Re: ...... by bey20: 2:29pm On Sep 16, 2011
Dainy1, I'm sorry if u feel my post was not polite, its just that lots of people wrote the test and went for the interviews and from your post 1 can only assume some other process is taking place after the interviews. This is Nigeria and you know what is happening in the country with regards to recruitment exercises, when legitimate candidates are dropped for special candidates (people with Godfathers). I apologies for commenting without knowing the full details of your situation.

@ poster a family friend you said is helping you?Doesn't that family friend have immediate family members that he/she can equally help?Talk less of you who is just a family friend. You people think the NNPC is a place where any kind of person with any kind of result just stumble his/her way into?

For your info, I currently have tens of CVs of people that have been disturbing me that they want to work with the NNPC. I am sure same applies to that your family friend.

If NNPC is recruiting it is usually advertised in public dailies so wait till then. And did u say you made a 2:2? I am sorry my dear, that's not up to the NNPC minimum requirement.

For those that just attended the last interviews be rest assured that there'll be fair play in the whole exercise.

From your reply, i infer you work in NNPC.
I have been looking for an opportunity to get this information first hand.
I am stil in 300l biochemistry though i follow alot of job thread in online forums particular Oil companies i have not for once seen any of them call for biochemist. Does this means biochemist are not needed in oil companies? I know oil companies have Research & Developement dept, and quality control biochemist sure can work in those dept but they(biochemist) are not listed among courses for grad trainee programs. Does it mean those dept have different route to entrance or can one speculatively apply to those dept for employment consideration. Peace out.

Easy mahn! Dont take it so damn serious.
@poster, working in an oil company doesnt guarantee a great life,no it doesnt. Relax, there are many organisations, nay even ideas you will work with that'l give you the best life offers.
And to your question, yes a 2.2 cert holder can and does work in NNPC
Re: ...... by PINKBABE: 9:32am On Sep 17, 2011
one can work anywhere irrespective of the 2:2 stuff, instead of you to table your case before god, u just decided to bring it here. ask god ur question and tell him all you want. i wish all the best.
Re: ...... by strangest(m): 9:36am On Sep 17, 2011
I am 100% sure that you can work with NNPC as a contract staff even with third class and still be able to earn more than the regular staff, so first find out the position your family friend is looking for you, will go a log way to tell if you can be allowed to work there and beside this is naija, many things are possible,

Re: ...... by beknown(m): 12:17pm On Sep 17, 2011
@Poster,

My answer is YES.

Gaining employment at NNPC is not about your class of degree.
Re: ...... by lasunray(m): 1:37pm On Sep 17, 2011
@syenite and all,pls i want to ask if sm1 dt studied ANY other course like agric with a 2.1 can work in NNPC?
Re: ...... by jackpot(f): 2:43pm On Sep 17, 2011
^Go study Fisheries too na. Mtchew tongue grin
Re: ...... by Syenite(m): 4:22pm On Sep 17, 2011
@ poster and others. Yes NNPC employs Biochemists and Agric graduates. NNPC has a Renewable Energy Division (RED) where Biotechnology is been used to sought for alternative energy sources. This is where pple with such backgrounds can work and also other arears like Crude Oil Marketing, HR, Planning etc.

However I still reiterate the fact that for you to enter as a Graduate trainee now you need atleast a 2:1! The last time NNPC employed 2:2 as GTs was in 2005.
However also experienced Hires can come in 2:2.

So Odunnu and the rest get ur facts right ok?NNPC recruitment is not as corrupt as u pple think. Several pple who entered with fake results have been fired!
Re: ...... by Yomit2(m): 4:29pm On Sep 17, 2011
@syenite, d question is can 2:2 biochemist work in NNPC. The poster is not asking whether 2:2 biochemist can be employed in NNPC as graduate trainee.
Hence 2:2 biochemist can work in NNPC
Re: ...... by komek(m): 4:36pm On Sep 17, 2011
@lasunray,go open ur  own thread and ask ur question
Re: ...... by Syenite(m): 4:49pm On Sep 17, 2011
@ Yomit2, u don't need a Juju priest to tell you the poster is a fresh graduate who is seeking a position as a GT. Anyways, I 've answered his/her question in my immediate previous post.
Re: ...... by Odunnu: 4:56pm On Sep 17, 2011
