The construction of a flyover bridge, roads, a bus terminal, a fuel station, a security building, a fire station, and external works at Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Council have officially been flagged-off by the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR.

The Contract is being managed by Engineer Elias Tanios of AG Vision Construction Ltd.

Soludo emphasized that the Contractor had publicly acknowledged receiving a 30% upfront payment for the project. Soludo said to the Contractor that this is where he will leave his signature project in the state as he handed him the handover site certificate.

As he acknowledged the people of Old Aguata Union (OAU), Soludo attested that the center of all their commercial and economic activity was Ekwulobia, which he also identified as the city's capital and promised to develop into a contemporary city.

Soludo reiterated that Ekwulobia is the capital of OAU and for that reason development will start in the city, among the towns that include Oko, Umunze, Nawfija, Ufuma, Ezira, Enugu Umuonya, etc.

Soludo explained that the proposed flyover will avoid traffic disruptions for people driving from Awka to Uga, Achina, or Imo State.

"Anambra is a "A" State, and all of our projects are of the highest caliber, with a minimum 20-year warranty.

"Repairs of vehicles will decrease if standard roads are constructed throughout the state.

"People had their doubts about the project's viability, but i've come to officially inform the people that it is true and the construction is kicking off today," said Soludo.

The launch of the flyover project will serve as the official celebration of the Governor's one year in office tomorrow, March 17 which Soludo announced to the people.

The Governor used the occasion to remind the public to cast as many votes for APGA on Saturday as possible while announcing that the project would be finished in the following 18 months. He stated that the party's goal is to take home all 30 seats in the Anambra House of Assembly.

He also exhorted ndi Anambra at home and in diaspora to participate in the upcoming national census in May this year.

Earlier, the TC Chairman of Aguata, Prince Chibueze Ofobuike greeted the Governor upon his arrival in Ekwulobia. He said the town was appropriate for the flyover the Governor was flagging-off. In Aguata and OAU generally, he claimed that Soludo's arrival today marks the start of bigger things to come.

For the Commissioner for Works, Engr Ifeanyi Okomma who insisted Ekwulobia is a Federal road stated that the proposed flyover from Nanka to Uga will be 300 meters long and 5.4 meters tall. Additionally, he revealed that a contemporary bus terminal and a fire station would both be constructed in Ekwulobia.

The project's contractor, AG Vision, is well known for building bridges, according to the commissioner, and the Federal Government of Nigeria can vouch for their accomplishments.

He promised that the flyover would be a work of art and that it would take 18 months to complete.

On his part, The Special Adviser to the Governor on Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Nnadozie Godwin, an indigene of Aguata applauded the Governor for his one youth, two skills initiative, which will pay off in the upcoming years. The people of OAU should be proud of Governor Soludo, he said, who also happens to be their son, because he is a man who has seen tomorrow.
