Jumia is a fraudulent company. They sold me a refurbished Laptop as new one. They are taking advantage of Nigerians by permitting vendors display used Laptops as new one, and they are fully aware of this behaviour.

I fell victim of this scam last December 2022. When I contacted Jumia, they weren't willing to assist at all. After leaving several mails and calls, I decided to call them out on Twitter. They responded immediately and gave some vague responses. Shortly after, they asked me to go look for the vendor (providing me his business details and phone). My service recovery skills were called into question by such show of unprofessionalism.

So I was going to just wait and see how best to legally handle them. However, during the week of the presidential election, the vendor himself called...when I scolded him for selling a used laptop as new, he apologized and promised to change it. Unfortunately after that call, he stopped picking my calls. When I used another line to call him, he claimed Jumia asked him not to change the laptop. I asked why, he couldn't provide a solid answer. Guys, beware of Jumia and their gadgets...they are mostly used.

I have not heard a complain about Konga. Is it that people don't patronise the merchant or it is as fraudulent as jumia? The items they display that looks enticing are not always the same items it sent to customers.Which agency should we report this fraudster to?
They need to be dealt with.

No, you can buy, just return to Jumia if any issue within stipulated return policy of 7 or 14 days for normal store or official store respectively.

Warranty is also there if it's a product covered by warranty. For example, if you buy a phone from Jumia and its has issue within the stipulated warranty period you can return to their service centre for a repair or change.

I have bought a lot gadgets and no issue at all.

The last was an LG Meridian premium sound bar. Best price and quality.

May be the complainant here did not return within the stipulated time.

He said he bought a used or refurbished laptop in place of a new one
