When ever I watched the videos of cars seized and actions for contravening the traffic laws i begin to wonder how bad things can get for some families, the wailing and agonizing moments for most especially those who committed those crimes innocently, because of these inhuman laws so many people who has car before are now living in frustration, Lagos government must do everything in their power to quash such laws that are not human friendly, there are many other ways to punish offenders apart from permanently seizure and auctioning of those cars

This is so bad. It's just like killing a man for crossing the wrong lane

Selling the car is too lenient considering that we lose too many lives to road traffic accident and majority of those accident is caused by useless drivers.
The driver should be compelled to set the offending car on fire and after that, he should be marched to prison.
Anybody that believe the punishments is harsh will lose his child to one way driver

cool

International best practice, auction cars violating rules when they can't pay fine

Black emotional unintelligent apelike humanoid can wail

But if you intentionally drive against traffic with intentent to break the law and killing innocent commuters and people on their lane... Then you need serious reprimand

I heard that in Lagos if your car has a tyre puncture while driving and you stop and don't drive it away immediately, then lasma boys would tow it away to their station while you pay heavily or risk your car auctioned. Isn't that too harsh?

That's the standard procedure everywhere . and to answer your question
Depending on how heavy the fine is.
A car that broke down needs to be tow away so as not to cause traffic. And towing certainly isn't free

Why I asked this question is that a driver told me that once you step down even to place the caution triangle which every driver places behind his faulty car to signal other road users before finding a solution to his problem, the boys wouldn't care and tow away your car immediately. So you needed to keep moving. I believe that's too harsh

That is the sorry situation we are in right now in Lagos. I was so lucky the day I encountered them at Ojodu Berge roundabout. Like 7 of them stepped out of their vehicle to arrest me for staying on the wrong lane of the road instead of directing me, they said the fine is 100,000. Luckily for me, one of them happened to be my primary school mate. That was how I was let go for free.

If you drive against traffic in Lagos State, your car will be impounded.

Many Nigerians are not ready for a functioning society. In fact , they are the dysfunction.
Driving against traffic .
Drink driving
Tailgating
Driving above speed limits
These are not minor offences. Many people have died and continue to die because of selfish and careless psychopath.stop moaning and obey the law.
