Why can't Igbo rule in Lagos or why can't another tribe rule over others if deemed fit for the job?

Barack Obama is the first Africa-American Black president to rule in the United States Of America, how about Emmanuel Onunwor?

He is a Nigeria-born American who served as the mayor of East Cleveland, Ohio.
So what is so special about this Lagos? Why do we sit back and watch politicians cause disunity among us? What make us one Nigeria if politics, ethnicity, tribalism has the power over us?
If politicians whose children are not even in the country can brainwashed us so easily, hence keeping us in abject poverty.
What are the reasons?
It is cause of jealousy?
It is out of hatred?
It is out of fear?
Please educate us.

Why are the igbo trying to rule lagos. Out of jurisdiction. Someone from Benin Republic have more rights to rule Lagos than igbos

Bettty Akeredolu, the wife of Ondo State Governor recently aspire to contest for a senatorial seat in Imo State but she was denied on the ground that she is no longer one of them since she is now married to a Yoruba man.

Same thing happened to Ojukwu's wife - Bianca, she was denied a ticket in Anambra simply because she was not from the state.
