The best idea. Nigeria is a tribal democracy. In tribal democracies, what the okoros are doing in Lagos can ONLY lead to war. Go and vote in your state of origin so that others don't see you as plotting to usurp their heritage and political power.

Nigeria is a multi-tribal country, England has ONLY one tribe, the English.

But it has its advantages and disadvantages....

Travel risk
Losing deals
Inconvenient to financial task
Strike laziness or zeal to participate in the election.


We elect people we want them to represent us and make decisions that will favour us.

If I do business in Lagos, I will vote anyone that promises to reduce taxes or cut down rents and promise to make mobility for businesses to strive.

If I am a civil servant, I will vote for anywho promises to increase salary scales and pay pension.

These promises might come from two different candidates... So the people will divide to vote what favours them.

Also, I will not leave my state of residence and go to my village to vote a leader who's decisions will not add value to me.

Most people were born and breed and another state where they barely visit their homestate.

If we want a united Nigeria, we should stop suggesting laws that will divide the people, rather look into policies that we enhance unity.

Let them vote based on their state or Region. So am Ibo man can vote only in southeast while a Yoruba only in southwest. The similarity between people in regions is more homogeneous. Ibo's and Yoruba hardly have similarity. Even their culture way of life and thinking is different so how can you expect them to decide for Yoruba leaders because they are doing business and paying taxes in Yorubaland it's not right and should be stopped.

Yeah. That's a developed place. Africans are very tribalistic.

Let me paint you an example. I traveled home to my hometown to vote and was told that the community has decided on a consensus candidate. Everybody must vote for that same person. You can't even thumbprint, they'll do it for you. You just accredit and leave.
Now, some people in the community refused. They were just 2 families. Do you know that they were beaten and also made not to thumbprint? They were accredited and dragged home. Now imagine that those people are from another ethnicity entirely, they'd have killed them.

So Africa need to change their method. Legislate it and give it expiring date. Maybe 2100. If it expires and there's still tribalism, give it another 100 years. Without that, we are headed for war

And also pay tax to their state of origin
And also adopt state of origin in census e.g Chioma in Lagos who hails from Imo state will be counted as Imo indigen.

I support state of origin

That will be difficult because a Yoruba man from Lagos can seek elective position in other Yoruba states which is the practice now.

All the crude oil in South South should be enjoyed by South South alone.
