Benin Electricity Distribution Company has appointed Dr Deolu Ijose as the new Managing Director.

Dr Deolu Ijose, is a first class graduate of Accounting from University of Lagos. A combination of erudition with focus, Dr Deolu retired from banking as a general manager/regional head of UBA, SouthWest where he served between May 2007 and July 2013 before joining Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company as the Chief Commercial Officer CCO in May 2015.

Upon retiring recently from IBEDC, he got appointed to the board of BEDC, before his appointment as the substantive Managing Director.

He is a fellow of the institute of chartered accountant of Nigeria (FCA). He also schooled in several schools in the United States of America.

Born in Ilutitun -Osooro in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, Deolu ironically hails from a region that has been disconnected from national grid for close to 15years due to alleged indebtedness to the company by the people of the region. Although the region has a lot of oil producing communities their debts to BEDC remains sticky since the first term of Dr Olusegun Rahman Mimiko in office.

Resident in Ondo South is the richest mornach in Africa as well as the richest man in Ondo State.

All eyes is now on Ondo South as the region is also expected by rule of natural justice
and an unwritten rotational agreement to produce the next governor of Ondo State.

Will Deolu be able to reconnect Ondo South to national grid as soon as possible!? Achieving that will give a serious boost to the already soaring reputation of the erudite achiever.
