There used to be a time when I get angry over some ethnic slur especially from the usual quarters, not anymore. What's happening currently on forums and the streets of Lagos is a manifestation of the hypocrisy of 'the lousy neighbors', classical what goes around comes around.

At a time, it was literally social suicide to identify, just identify as a northerner, a Muslim or fulani, the horde of hell would descend on such person for no other crime but his identity.

There are so many complicit moderators on this forum who act and ban forum members irrationally . I recently got banned for 'insulting a tribe' and I was there reading my post over and over again looking for the insult.

Seun should caution his moderators on dangers of being bias and the effects.. If they so want, they can change the forum name to Igboland to please the Igbos, since other ethnicities aren't welcome.

I just went through that thread, it's very disheartening and totally condemnable.

I don't believe anybody has ever had their opinions changed about anything because of something they read on Nairaland or Twitter. I could have advised you not to bother with the highlighted.

The format (maybe because of the anonymity) supports people shouting over each other and general trolling. There is nothing Seun can do about that. It's not a bug, it's a feature.

Tribalism is a natural instinct. Even if we all belonged to one ethnic group, it could be something else maybe even football clubs. That is the way we humans evolved. It is stupid but then again most people are rather dim.
