It was an embarrassing and disappointing sight as the Super Eagles' preparation for the Guinea-Bissau clash suffered a setback

Nigeria's Super Eagles trained in darkness on Tuesday ahead of the crucial AFCONQ2023 clash against Guinea-Bissau this Friday in Abuja.

Nigeria Super Eagles opened camp on Sunday for the encounter with almsot a full house by Tuesday night.

Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon and Calvin Bassey were the latest to arrive, taking the number of players in camp to 21 heading into the night session on Tuesday.

Super Eagles suffer blackout

Peseiro chasing Rohr’s feat as the Super Eagles resume campaign

However, on arrival at the Moshood Abiola international stadium to continue their preparation, the Super Eagles were met with a blackout.

The team went on to the pitch to train in peach darkness as coach Jose Peseiro and his team out the players through their paces.

Nigeria will host Guinea-Bissau on Friday before travelling to Guinea-Bissau for the second leg slated on Monday.

Super Eagles News: Nigeria vs Guinea-Bissau

The Nigeria Super Eagles are top of the group with six points and will be looking to seal progress with another six points in the double-header against Guinea-Bissau.

Super Eagles form
Meanwhile, Jose Peseiro and his men will go into this encounter looking to return to winning ways after a poor run of form.

Nigeria Super Eagles are on a run of four matches without a win, with the team only scoring one goal in that time.

The Eagles suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Portugal ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and will know they cannot afford further slip-ups.

Nigeria's last appearance at the MKO Abiola international in Abuja was the in-famous 1-1 draw with Ghana which ended the team's World Cup dreams and Peseiro will look to afford a repeat of that performance on Friday.

It’s high time govt invite the foreign investors to take over the power sector from our local investors, BDEC and others are just rippers, they are always demanding for monthly bills payment of a service dey didn’t deliver, the incoming govt should terminate their contract, Nigerians are tired of the thief’s that took us for a fool, eletricity in Nigeria is still the bworst in the world.

That is what we keep on saying.
That the nation is stagnant at best but for the most continues to slide into hopelessness.
Yet we are content with electoral victories, who has won and lost and who we are handing over the keys of the nation to.
But after decades we cannot admit that it is just not worth it.

Better ignore the narrative. It is impossible for even a small guest house not having a standby generator, let alone. Abeg. It's still people trying to tarnish this country image up and down calling it a zoo. That pic could have been taken before the players even arrive. Realease the training in darkness video.. don't be sway by a thing like the disgusting blogging write up on a single laptop. I refuse to believe

There are even worse stories we have heard here in Abuja since Monday when they started arriving.
Players being crammed into aged 14 seater buses, etc.
Leave this 'ostriching' abeg.
The NFF is a mess and a reflection of the country presently.
And you can imagine the new head was elected just a few months ago.
Then you ask, on what basis.
But then this is Nigeria where elections are just for elections sake. Nothing ever changes positively.

Stop saying what you don't know!
If an outage takes place in developed countries without any reasonable excuse or cause, someone is either losing their job or resigning!
Here,we are so used to the ugly norms hence impunity is acceptable!
No wonder the UK ambassador commended a sham election because she knows that's what some of our deluded leaders want to hear and the fact that we don't even a standard!

Why are they behaving as if they aren’t Nigerians? They should have used generator. Nobody relies on NEPA for important events. That’s how unreliable NEPA is.

The backup generator failed to pick up after several attempts.

Somebody must have embezzled the money meant for its maintenance.

The rot in our Footballing administration body is one we're yet to find time to discuss. I no go surprise if Guinea Bissau rubbish these boys for the match.

It's not fake news meant to misinform the public. It actually happened.

Abuja residents have a heightened likeness for exercises and recreation. It's literally why Jabi park never lacks human presence in the early mornings and late evenings of everyday. So when it was learned that the eagles will resume training sessions at the M. Abiola stadium that evening, a fine number of young men and girls were there, either for their own exercises or to simply watch the boys out of fascination. Lights went out, backup generator no gree start. Everybody just begin quarrel while some just dey laugh and lambast the country.
