Or rather, are known of HIM (Galatians 4:9), by HIS grace and mercy, keep HIS commandments (which is the entire word of GOD), not to save one's self ("But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."-Matt 19:26 ), - but, rather, as a result of being saved.

“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.  He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” - 1Jn 2:3-6

The Lord JESUS CHRIST says:
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” - Joh_14:15  (GOD defines our love for Him and our neighbor in Mark 12:30-31; that is obedience to HIM and sharing the word of GOD and our substance with others, respectively)

“If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.” - John 15:10
 
"For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” - 1 Jn 2:16-17

“Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.” Psalm 96:13

“Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:” - Isa 55:6

“The Lord [is] gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, And of great mercy.” - Pss 145:8
