I watched with dismay the chaos associated with this forum tribalism and pre and post election brouhaha.

Here are the problems
1. Tribalsim, hate speech unchecked perverse debaucherous posts and scams
2. Irrespective of your disclaimer you can and will be held accountable for what members post on your forum by law
3. This forum ha sgriwn such a negative reputation online that most individuals of repute and equity stay away from here hence you are attracting only the bottom feeders criminals perverts and the typical people whom most forums don't want
4. Those undiserables has multiple accounts on this forum

Solution

1. Do away with the anonymous aspect of this forum . Demand phone number verification when registering via smsm code sent to phone and entered during registration

2. Yes you may say this is easily and will also help you solve the problems of multiple accounts . Banning when anyone violates the rules regarding hate speech let that individual be banned immediately. Now upon expiration of the ban date a URL link which they must click is sent to the registered email of said person so if they used a fake email to register to account trust me they can't return beca5its stressful to remember the password for numerous fake emails . Now you may say what if they have the password, then after clicking the link they must re-enter their registered phone number for a USsd code to be sent to this number which they must enter to resume from the ban. This will greatly reduce fake accounts and these scum who have peverted thos forum with tribalism hate speech and fake news.

2. Trust me it will help you get the true number of registered users and also when people know they are no longer anonymous here they will complete themselves.

Don't mind those telling you that Nairaland must remain anonymous like quora and Reddit. Those forums have measures to trace you through your digi footprint if the need arouses and they have severe banning methods.

Lastly you need to let go of some compromised supermods whose names have arisen too frequently in controversy. I need not mention any for surely you know them . Replace these supermods .

Don't let Nairaland die. Even if it means nothing to you because it's revenue isn't that exciting still it's part of your legacy as an individual

Get some courage to do the right thing. It's time. Most of the intellectual and interesting members have left the forum. Try your best and push yourself to act one last time. Take these ideas into serious consideration.
So if eventually Nairaland dies at least you would know you tried your best right ?

@ Seun my late mentor always told me that there is a big difference between what you think you are and what you really are. Nairaland is not quora or Reddit and can't be those platforms because even though they are also anonymous,they have way better moderation.

The reality has to be addressed versus the expectations.

I didn't say that I merely acknowledged her truth . But if you ask me she was merely referring to your infamous refusal to acknowledge blatant errors here as pointed out constantly over the years by MEMBERS and your refusal to take any action.

She was basically saying that I am flogging a dead horse whose owner refuses to acknowledge the reality .
