The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. NLT.

Hallelujah, abundant life vision will be two years on Tuesday. I want to appreciate everyone who has been a part of the journey so far. God in heaven will bless you abundantly in Jesus name. Today, we will be talking about the person who has been with us for the past two years, Jesus the son of God.

In the last two years, I have had to explain why Jesus is called the son of God. We live in a world where people say all sort of stuff about the being of Jesus based on their belief and based on their view about God. The thing is Jesus’ name in the trinity is not Jesus but the Word, John 1:1: In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. NLT. It is the same way that the Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of God in the trinity. Romans 8:14: For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. NLT. The reason why Jesus is called the son of God is because he was fathered by the power of God. Jesus was not conceived through human effort or biology. He was a seed fertilised by the power of God which was dropped inside Mary’s womb. Therefore, he became flesh (human) and can call the person that fertilised him his father.

However, that is not my teaching today, what I want to talk about today is that it is only in Jesus that we have life. The bible in our text says the Word (Jesus) gave life to everything that was created. There is something important in that scripture that I want to talk about. That scripture is basically saying that without Jesus, you would not be here right now. As a living thing, you are powered by life, you can breathe in and out because Jesus created the system that allows it. Therefore, when we say there is no life without Jesus, apart from the spiritual and directional aspect of that statement, it means that, you cannot exist as a living being without Jesus.

Jesus’ work of redemption therefore became useful for living beings because if there are no living beings, the work of redemption will not have recipients. The redemption we are talking about is the other aspect of life which is the light of God. God’s light illuminates our world by revealing God to us. Jesus gave us life to live here on earth and his life made light available to us to know God. At the end of the day, Jesus is at the centre of everything.

Therefore, if you reading this and you have not received the light of God and you are ready to do so, say this prayer wholeheartedly; Dear Jesus, I believe that you died for my sins and you resurrected on the third day by the power of God, please forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life and I will serve you forever. Amen. If you have recited the prayer, I congratulate you and I urge you to join a bible believing church as you begin your journey in Christ.
