Ojukwu ran away true. But Generals abdicate their battle field no be today. General Nguyen left the battlefield in Saigon when the US soldiers got on the offensive against the North Vietnamese troops. The thing is if Ojukwu was caught by Gowon, he will never beg or cry like Diya did that is the difference. What Diya did was the ultimate show of cowardice for a General.

See dude try and have small sense. See Ojukwu left the battle field, it is not today Generals have left battlefield. In the Siege of Saigon General Nguyen left the field because he lost the initiative and the US soldiers had mounted a counter offensive against North Vietnamese troops. The things is even if Gowon caught Ojukwu, Ojukwu will not cry and beg, let alone beg a more Junior officer like Major Al Mustapha, even Dimka a Lt Col Didn't beg when he was executed he shouted on one of the Lts leading him from the black Maria to give him his salute because he is a senior officer. Dita should have read his surroundings very well to know that something was up against him and he would have taken off, that would have been sheer courage because he would have been another symbol of resistance to Abacha.

The answer is No. General Nguyen ran from the battlefield in the siege of Saigon when the US mounted a counter offensive against North Vietnamese troops. Ghadaffi escaped but did he beg when he was killed? No. Sadden Hussein escaped but when he was captured did he beg? No. Diya's case will forever be an object of mockery, because he even went as low as begging a far Junior officer as Major Al Mustapha. That was cold Ironsi even when he was tortured never begged in July 66

Ojukwu qualify as the most coward, run away from war front as a rat leaving millions of his people to die. Diya stood on his ground and defend himself without making his people to suffer for his predicament.

General Nguyen of Vietnam ran way from Saigon when US mounted a counter offensive against North Vietnamese troops. The question you should ask is if Ojukwu was caught will he beg Gowon like Diya cried and begged Abacha? The answer is No, even at that it was better Ojukwu left the way he did because if he was caught and killed the remaining Biafran troops that have surrendered would have started a long bitter and silent guerilla warfare and insurgency that would have crippled Nigeria seriously. Just look at what happened with Boko Haram if their leader was not killed will Boko Haram have been this deadly?
