In response to a write up I came across here on nairaland this morning by a moniker Jesusjnr2020, I want to contribute my little knowledge.
There is no where in the bible from Genesis to revelation where God, The laws,Prophets, the writings and even the gospels( the whole of the new testament) says that Satan rules the world.
Jesusjr2020 brought up a particular biblical passage where Satan was being referred to as "prince of the world" which he translates to mean he rules the affair of this world independent of God or outside God's sovereignty. There's nothing that occurs in this world that does not pass through the approval of God whether good or bad that is why Satan needed to consult God before dealing with Job and we have a lot of examples in the bible.
Whatever happens here on earth, God takes responsibility over it whether good or evil.

Job 2:3
[3]And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, ALTHOUGH THOU MOVEDST ME AGAINST HIM, TO DESTROY HIM WITHOUT CAUSE.
Here God was claiming the responsibility of destroying Job even when it's obvious that it was Satan that destroyed Job and his house hold.

Job 1:11-12
[11]But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
[12]And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
More of this is when Yahweh himself claimed the responsibility of deceiving his own prophets when we know quite well that there's no deception among the attributes of Yahweh.

1 Kings 22:22-23
[22]And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.
[23]Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.
Yes, God said he created light and darkness, good and evil proceeds from him according to Isaiah 45:7

[7]I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Of course I'm aware of a version of a biblical verse that calls satan the god of this world
New Living Translation of 2 Corinthians 4:4;
"Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God".
The NLT version does more of interpretation rather than translating the bible. NLT is probably the only bible version that has the word satan in the verse. The original greek word does not have satan. Here is the KJV:
2 Corinthians 4:4
[4]In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
No manuscript of that verse has the word SATAN. Yes NLT might not be wrong to insert satan in the verse to explain to their readers but I can as well interpret the verse to mean that the god in this verse meant anything that takes the value of God in your life. Eg, money, football, sex or even Satan.

There is a paragraph of Jesusjr2020's write up that provokes my spirit. Here is the excerpt.

"It was never God's plan A or plan B up to plan Z for Satan to become the ruler of this world.

The only person God intended to have dominion and to rule over this world was the man He made in His own image".

It shows the level of his ignorance of the scripture.
According to Revelation 13:8

[8]And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD.
IF GOD DOES NOT KNOW THAT SATAN WILL TAKE ADAM'S DOMINION WHY WOULD HE PLAN JESUS DEATH AND RESURRECTION EVEN BEFORE HE CREATED THE EARTH ( FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD)?!.

Yes God plan that man rules the earth but he knew that Satan would impeach man and take his position.
God never had plan B his plans never fails!.
What he does not want never occurs on earth! that's why he's called the omniscient. He possesses all the omni attributes.
He talked about Jesus temptation. Satan never had autonomous power on this earth he was only trying to deceive Jesus...
There's also an excerpt from his arguments which says


"Therefore God never rested until He had reclaimed that power and authority He gave man over His creation from Satan, because it was never His intention for the devil to have it in the first place.

If God gave the devil the power or installed him as the ruler of this world, why would He go through so much trouble to retrieve it and to cast the devil out?"

As I have clearly refuted his arguments let me reiterate this one more time GOD WAS NEVER HELPLESS AT ANY TIME NOR WAS HE OUT OF THE KNOW ANY TIME. SATAN NEVER RULED ON EARTH AUTONOMOUSLY AT ANY TIME EVERYTHING WAS IN GOD'S KNOWLEDGE EVEN BEFORE HE CREATED SATAN.
Revelation 13:8

AND LET ME ALSO ADD THIS TO CLEAR SOME OF HIS CONFUSION, GOD CREATED MAN IN HIS OWN IMAGE I.E WE CREATED IN GOD'S IMAGE WE ARE LITTLE GODS THAT'S WHAT THE BIBLE CALLS US "YE ARE gods" SO, HE LET US DO WHATEVER PLEASES US AS gods BUT NEVER OUTSIDE HIS AUTONOMY!.
