Bearing in mind that the English version of the bible you read today went through several translations before arriving in English, could the chariots of fire that whisked Elijah away be a reference to an extraterrestrial technology that was impossible for Elisha to describe at the time hence the use of whirlwind in some translations the term 'fire chariots' in others?
