During a news conference held in Abuja on Friday, Salihu Moh. Lukman, the National Vice Chairman for the Northwest region of the party, urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct an audit before the upcoming supplementary and outstanding elections scheduled for April 15.

While acknowledging that the recent general election was one of the best in Nigeria's history, Lukman called on INEC to urgently initiate an internal review of how the 2023 elections were managed.

As part of this review, he stressed the need for INEC to address issues of ethical conduct among its staff, including returning officers.

Lukman also criticized the use of academic staff as returning officers, stating that being an academic does not necessarily translate to competence in managing public service.

He cited cases of returning officers compromising themselves to politicians as a major reason for varying standards in election results across the country.
