BE WARY OF ATTEMPT TO DISCREDIT LAGOS BLUE LINE RAIL

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) is in receipt of an obviously doctored video clip showing 4 people purportedly pushing one of the train sets to be deployed for passenger operations for the Blue Line

I did not say it was doctored or not doctored

This is not a normal train?
What kind of train is it?

Their statement claims they it was an old video and they were catching cruise i.e joking around
So you are saying no . This particular train is not a normal one but is one that can be pushed around?
That means you know about this one?

One question? What does it weigh? Any idea?

Discredit what, you people(inclusive of Lagos state govt.) are not serious, that thing doesn't not look doctored, however that is not even my major concern.

When I tell Tinubu supporters that Ambode still remains the best governor of Lagos since 1999, they begin to argue.

Firstly the cost of the rail project is about 10 times the original cost the contract was actually given to the company that did it, the cost inflation was so bad that it was inflated with about 1billion dollars, who is taking all that money and yet it is tax payers that will pay what someone or some people have already stolen?

Secondly I heard that they use generators to power the rail and the metro engines and that is because of the power issue in Nigeria, just look at the cost of running rail transport, other developed countries already have 24 hours power supply and so running their metro rail transport is efficient, effective and cheap, the truth is Lagos state should have solved the electricity problem first before embarking on such project instead of buying diesel that sometimes is not available.

Even powering those generators have not been completely solved because of NNPC and scarcity of petroleum products, you now want to use that to power the metro rail line transport.

You now see the reasons probably why Ambode completely avoided it, to me I somehow just see it as a fraudulent white elephant project some people wanted to just cash out with and deceive their followers that they are working....

Voice of the author of that video has suggested where he comes from. He is just a bittered soul that gets poisoned with every good development in Lagos state. The one their candidate lied about in Anambra never see the light of the day not to talk of pushing it. They should be ignored, they are just jealous of progress in Lagos

Minimum 30 tonnes.

It is not a reasonable suggestion.
Trains run on special wheels and tracks and it would be very unsafe to push by hand. . There are special vehicles used to tow trains when they lose power.

A section of the newly commissioned Blue Rail Mass Transit project at Marina, Lagos State, was gutted by fire on Tuesday, 28th February 2023.

It was reported that the fire affected the section which houses a generator used in the facility. The fire was said to have been ignited by a petrol-powered generator deployed to pump diesel into the barge from a tanker parked by pier 27.

I m sure you can read and don't need an interpreter

Where does any of that tell us the trains are powered by generators or what the generator is for?

So what?
That means the t Trains are powered by generators?
That is not logical
The trains will need the order of Megawatts to run and the entire track will be electrified when functional by an Independent Power Plant. ,purpose built and dedicated.

lol, independent power plant, Yes, powered by what? NEPA, Hydro, Solar or wind, Oga it is powered by diesel, you guys are so funny, when they say independent power plant, in simple terms it means generator, and most likely that was the diesel they were loading that caused fire there.

The best way they would have powered it was to use clean energy for an independent power plant, but of course the corrupt Lagos state govt in conjunction with Tinubu will not want that, same way they did all the street lights and made sure they were not solar powered, do you want to know why?

Because some people will not be collecting contract for the supply of diesel, Imagine how much will be going into diesel purchase....

Ask anybody in APC or Lagos state government about the diesel vs Solar issue for powering their projects, I also know people in Lagos APC and I hear a lot of things..

A diesel generator may provide backup for the office of train station I don't know but not to the tracks that is not right

Try to have the conversation without calling anyone funny . Be polite.
You might learn something
No the IPP is not powered by diesel

That is totally wrong
It is powered by gas integrating a UPS system as well as supply o electricity from the grid
There is very good gas supply to Lagos state for industrial use.
The biggest power plant in The whole country is in Lagos state powered by gas.
It has been operating for nearly 40 years. The gas pipelines to Lagos are fully functional
Dangote fertiliser plant also taps in and that is what will power the IPP

Which ever way, they should have gone for a cheaper source like solar or wind, because the gas is still not cheap, the electricity from power grid is not stead and UPS will be still be charged by one of the former sources, because at the end it will affect the cost of the transportation.

Lagos has enough wind due to its closeness to the sea, I still don't see reasons why they have not invested seriously in wind energy, the wind is completely free and in abundant supply and Lagos has so many beaches they can harness for that, they don't even need to put them in the ocean.

Solar is cheaper than gas? You are joking right?

You should stop arguing for the sake of arguing
It is clear You have not researched this. properly
Gas is the cheapest source of power generation.
It is already available in Lagos, which you didn't know, so why should they not use it?
Do we make solar panels in Nigeria?
How much land Do you think is needed to carry solar panels for 1megawatt? Where is that land in Lagos state?

Closeness to sea does not mean automatic wind.
The Bights of Benin and Bonny are not very windy places. Look at the map. Have you ever heard of hurricanes here?
It is like a cup shape. The winds hitting West Africa are dampened before hitting those bights
Even without any of that winding an efficient or reliable source of power
We have gas,it is in Lagos and that makes sense

You see, that's the problem with some people understanding management, setting up solar is not cheap now,, but long term it becomes cheaper than gas, Solar has lower maintenance than gas powered engines and you don't pay for the sun, but at the same time I know solar has its limitation in terms of maximum capacity at all times due to the sun, that was why I stressed more on wind energy if you read my previous write up, that would have been the best for Lagos, Lagos has all it takes to harness it, and the maintenance is very low....

My major target in the rail project is how to get the cheapest long term source of energy and get maximum output on efficiency and effectiveness while also making it very affordable for passengers.

Let us leave this argument

We started with diesel now we are talking management .

It is not powered by diesel

Whether diesel or not, my major concern is that some people want to chopping money untop of contract for the supply of things that can be avoided, in the end it is the citizens that will still pay for the chopping through tax and passenger fare...
