Ndi Kato Claims 'Obidents' Face Consequences for Hate Speech and Targeted by Imposters

Recently, Arise News, a global news network, shared a tweet that claimed that those who have faced the most severe repercussions for hate speech in Nigeria are the "Obidents." The tweet further mentioned that former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, and Gbedebo Rhodes Vivour are still experiencing the consequences of hate speech, and there is a deliberate attempt to damage the reputation of the "Obidents" by planting imposters.

The tweet suggests that the "Obidents" are facing the most significant consequences for hate speech, and this claim has some merit. Hate speech has become prevalent in Nigeria, and it has resulted in numerous cases of violence and unrest. The Nigerian government has taken steps to curb hate speech, and offenders have faced severe consequences. In 2019, a man was sentenced to two years in prison for making hate speech comments against the Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano.

Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and Gbedebo Rhodes Vivour are both prominent figures in Nigeria, and they have been vocal in their opposition to hate speech. However, it's unclear what specific instances of hate speech they have faced consequences for. It's possible that they have been targeted for their vocal opposition to hate speech, which has made them unpopular with some segments of the population.
