Divine Historical Error About The Samaritan by TenQ: 8:01pm On Apr 05, 2023
One of the biggest errors in the narration of the Qur'an is the apparent lack of recourse to time, sequence and history of real events. One example is the mix-up of Mariam the Sister of Aaron and Mary the mother of Jesus . The difference in time between the two is almost 2000 years. However, the Qur'an mixes their personalities up in Qur'an 66:12 and Quran 3:35-37. This mistake is for another day's discussion.

Today, we will like to discuss the Samaritans , their place in history and Allah.

Sorry for the lengthy post :

The Qur’an says that the calf worshipped by the Israelites at mount Horeb after their escape from Egypt was molded by a Samaritan.

Qur'an 20:85-86, 95
85. (Allah) said: “Verily! We have tried your people in your absence, and As-Samiri (the Samaritan) has led them astray.”
86. Then Moses went back unto his folk, angry and sad. He said: O my people! Hath not your Lord promised you a fair promise? Did the time appointed then appear too long for you, or did ye wish that wrath from your Lord should come upon you, that ye broke tryst with me?
87. They said: "We broke not the promise to thee, as far as lay in our power: but we were made to carry the weight of the ornaments of the (whole) people, and we threw them (into the fire), and that was what the As-Samiri (the Samaritan) suggested.
88. "Then he brought out (of the fire) before the (people) the image of a calf: It seemed to low: so they said: This is your god, and the god of Moses, but (Moses) has forgotten!"
95. (Moses) said: "What then is thy case, O Samiri (Samaritan)?"

The problem is that
The Samaritans did NOT exist till about 1500 years after Moses. The Samaritans came well after Solomon the king of Israel.

Questions:
1. Could an all-knowing God make such a silly historical mistake?
2. Let's even assume the modern Islamic Taqqiya is accepted:
Can any Muslim tell us who the As-Samiri are in history?

As usual, I call my Nairaland friends for this exciting discussion

One of the biggest errors in the narration of the Qur'an is the apparent lack of recourse to time, sequence and history of real events. One example is the mix-up of Mariam the Sister of Aaron and Mary the mother of Jesus . The difference in time between the two is almost 2000 years. However, the Qur'an mixes their personalities up in Qur'an 66:12 and Quran 3:35-37. This mistake is for another day's discussion.

Today, we will like to discuss the Samaritans , their place in history and Allah.

Crash Course: Who are the Samaritans?

1. The Samaritans split from Israel after the reign of Solomon king of Israel. The 10 tribes of Israel rebelled against Rehoboam son of Solomon because he wouldn't listen to them.

2.The Samaritans trace their origins back to the ancient Israelite tribes who inhabited the region of Samaria in the 8th century BCE, following the split of the Kingdom of Israel into the northern Kingdom of Israel and the southern Kingdom of Judah

3. The ten tribes of Israel were exiled by the Assyrians in the 8th century BCE, and their fate thereafter is largely unknown. The Samaritans claim descent from the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh, who were among the ten tribes exiled by the Assyrians.

4. Over time, because the only temple was in Jerusalem and it was the only place where animal sacrifice was allowed, the Samaritans developed their own religious traditions and practices which though an offshoot of Judaism, it differed from those of the Jews in significant ways.

Enter Mohammed, the Qur'an and Allah:

The problem is that
1. The Samaritans did NOT exist till about 1500 years after Moses. The Samaritans came well after Solomon the king of Israel.

2. Modern Muslims recognised this problem , therefore they started mistranslating ٱلسَّامِرِىُّ (the Samaritan) as As-Samiri in English so that the Arabic meaning will remain hidden.

3a. Therefore, I first went to ChatGPT to ask the questions:
What do the Arabs call
1. Samaritan
2. A person from Samaria

The answer is presented in the attachment

b. I then went to Google translate to ask the question:
What is Samaritan in Arabic ?
The answer is also presented in the attachment

c. I then looked at Islamic commentary of Qur'an 20:85 by Al-Jalalayn
Jalal - Al-Jalalayn
But those he supposed [to be following him] had remained behind, for He, exalted be He, said, ‘Indeed We tried your people after you, that is, after your departure from them, and the Samaritan led them astray’, so they took to worshipping the [golden] calf.

d. Direct Quote From Muslim English Translation of Qur'an 20:85
DR. GHALI
Said He, “Yet surely We have already tempted your people even after you; (i.e., after your departure from them) and As- Samiriyy (The Samaritan) has led them into error.”

Now that I have preemptively bursted the Islamic Taqqiya (deception) at least from four different sources, I can now ask them these simple questions

Questions:
1. Could an all-knowing God make such a silly historical mistake?
2. Let's even assume the modern Islamic Taqqiya is accepted:
Can any Muslim tell us who the As-Samiri are in history?

As usual, I call my Nairaland friends for this exciting discussion

Muhammad, the author of the Quran just pack all sorts of inaccurate stories and fairytales in his book called the Quran. No wonder the people of his days exposed him for that

“ And whenever Our messages were conveyed to them, they would say, "We have heard [all this] before; if we wanted, we could certainly compose sayings like these [ourselves]: they are nothing but fables of ancient times!"

Bro please sincerely answer the questions for the sake of your own soul.

There was no city called Samaria in the days of Moses. Samaria became the capital city of the 10 tribes after they split from Judah and Benjamin. Omri, the 3rd king of the 10 tribes bought a mountain from a man called Sema. He now named the mountain Samaria after the name of the previous owner. Later on, the entire area was called Samaria, and it even became the capital city.

Even during all those days, nobody in Israel was ever called a Samaritan. This was not until the king of Assyria took the original inhabitants of Samaria away to Assyria and brought captives from other nations to live in Samaria.

In short, the word ', Samaritan was a derogatory remark for those none Israelites who the king of Assyria brought to live in Samaria. The distance between Moses and these events is about 1,500yrs.

Where then did Allah see the Samaritan of the days of Moses?

Your exclusive source for the events on the origin of the Samaritans is based on biblical accounts, isn’t it? Now the questions I have for you is:

1. Why should I take the biblical account as factual when I have reasons to the contrary?

2. Are you aware of the Samaritans version of their own history, which significantly differs from the account you just gave?

3. As you rightly said that Samaritan is an exonym. Does that in anyway detract from the fact that this people have been existing before other Jews gave them the name Samaritan ?

4. Are you also aware that these people consider themselves guardians of the law and date their own presence to the time of Moses?

It’s not a matter of nzogbu nzogbu otellectualism, please!

At least from your text in quote, you are not denying the "Samaritan" in your Qur'an. You are only contesting that this group existed probably long before Moses!

I gave you proofs didn't I? Please where are your proof?

1. The issue is about History. Did Moses exist in the Qur'an and the story of the Golding calf?
2. Can you kindly give a proof that the Samaritans have any story proving that they exist at the time of Moses?
3. Just give us the History of the Samaritans and this would be put to rest.
4. Just give the history of how the Samaritans got their laws from Moses!

When an illiterate follows his mistress to the Catholic Church listening to stories in the Bible but decides to start his own religion using the stories he heard from the mouth of Catholics how do you expect him to remember all the characters mentioned in stories that run from Genesis to Revelations not to talk of dates and venue of events?
Surely he will try to make some sense out of what he was able to gather but then when you know about the real stories the only thing he could tell his gullible followers is that what the Bible documented with specific names, dates and venue of events has been altered.

That's why an average Muslim will quote the Bible to authenticate what Muhammad told him but when you figure out the contradictions they will say it's the Bible yet their book can't tell them anything straightforward.

Well i thank God for sending His Witnesses to help me know the truth about Him and His only begotten Son! John 17:3 undecided

I think Mohammed got his stories from several incompatible sources
1. From the Jews
2. From the Christians
3. From the Sabians
4. From Arabian Tales
Etc.
He got bit and pieces from all over. He only built his foundation from Judeo-Christian views.

His followers are desperately trying to duck tape the obvious errors in the perfect book of Allah!
His lack of historical train of sequence is evidently betrayed in his composition of the Qur'an

The Character As-Saamiri you are confused on saying he's a Samaritan from Samaria, bearing in mind that the city of Saamirah to whom he is attributed as you claim was founded a long time after him. But you did not know that As-Saamiri is not attributed to this town, rather he is attributed to one Israelite tribe called As-Saamirah. It was also said that he was an infidel from Karman and his name was Moosaa Ibn Thafar. Anyway according to both interpretations, he is not attributed to the town of Saamirah, so your misconception is refuted!
