In Nigerian universities, “GPA” stands for Grade Point Average.

It is the average of the grade points obtained in a particular semester. “CGPA”, on the other hand, stands for Cumulative Grade Point Average.

It is the average of all the grade points obtained from the beginning of the program till date.

The grading system in Nigerian universities uses a scale of 0-100, with

70 and above as A
60-69 as a B
50-59 as a C
45-49 as a D
40-44 as an E
below 40 as an F.
