some dont want to be in contact because all people back home think that because someone is abroad, they are swimming in money...and therefore all your discussions are all about either give them money and/or how difficult your life is back in Nigeria bla bla bla. they make plans on these people's salary saying nonsense like:"they earn $2k abroad and therefore they can afford to send me $100 bla bla bla", not knowing that many have no money left after they pay their rent/bills etc
it is not only very boring but also very stressful for someone who is trying to enjoy life abroad, and not worry about "your" life problems.
