Today may seem to be an adventure and another awful experience for me, but for some others I met at the Interview I attended today, it could be more devastating and another bad experience in the hunt for a Job.

I currently have a job but am currently on annual leave, so I decided to go for an interview after declining the first invite the same Hotel sent me sometimes in January this year.. I got this interview from one of the prominent and very popular hotels in Ilorin, Kwara state.

I am trying to hide the identity of this 5-star HOTEL but others might not feel the same once they spot some clue in this thread. I am sure someone from today will find this cheesy

When I got to the interview hall this morning I met about 60 other applicants and I was a bit surprised, cus I didn't expect us to be as much as that. I took the last sit at the back and I think a couple of other guys came in after me. I saw a friend, who currently works in my formal place of work, but he was off today. We joked about it (U get work u still dey jostle for work with others, lol), but I was sure there are others like us too who has a job but still decided to come for an interview there. Welcome to Nigeria.

I checked how much they pay for the role I applied for the first time I applied but lesser than what I currently earn, that was why I declined the first invite, I guess they kept my records and still sent me another last week. I only came because I am on leave and I have the time.

Straight to the point now, the interview was supposed to hold by 10 am, but they stated calling people in at around 11 am. It was very slow but everyone waited, they called in batches, 15 people in each batch. When it got to the last 30 people, they called us (2 batches) into another hall once.

We waited but noticed that the process was faster, but this time guys that entered came out with strong faces. It was obvious they were all sad. Everyone started murmuring (make e no be like say this people say make this guys come back tomorrow o) I thought to myself. Everyone kept going in, after like a minutes they are back outside, carried their bags and leave angrily. So we others sitting (about 20 of us now) called a lady and asked what happened.

The lady told us the interviewers (about 3 of them) said they won't be interviewing us today and that from those who did earlier, they have found those they needed. But they will keep in touch with them if the position is vacant in the future.

The Lady applied for the same role I applied for, My friend applied for a different role, so he went to confirm this and they told him the same thing. He came out and break the news to others, we were all angry and started murmuring our displeasure. The scene was chaotic.

He wanted to cause trouble there for wasting our time and not giving everyone chance. But I was glad he let go. I left there without even going in myself, others waited and told me to go in first but, I knew it was a waste of time so we left them and left there.

To be honest, I have never experienced this kind of rubbish from HR or an EMPLOYER, it shocked me for real, at least I didn't expect it from that kind of (So-i-thought-structured-organisation).

You knew you already have what you needed, why didn't you at least give others a chance to prove themselves, they could prove better. At least for fairness.

They didn't even have d gut to come out and honorably discharge us, at least with comforting words. Later those idiots will be among those blaming the government, to be fair I wasn't sure if this has happened before, lol.
The only comforting thing for me is the doughnuts they gave us, I go use that one break my fast with a chilled malt. I no get strength to cook anything like this

If you have similar experience please drop let's learn from you.
