One key attribute of fascists is that people are not allowed to disagree with them. And that is what is demonstrated by Datti Baba Ahmed during the interview and generally by the OBIDIENT mob that prompted Soyinka's label. Ms Adichie either does not have full understanding of the fascist term (deductible from her scant reference to Musolini without elaboration of the qualities of fascism) or she was being economical with the truth.

The OBIDIENT horde clearly have a key attribute of fascism in that they brook no dissent and would not mind cancelling anyone that disagrees with them. What more do you need for a fascist label?
