I am a printer and a graphic designer for 18 years and running. Most of my clients are from across the country and i have never met them. Not once have i had issues where a customer gave me money for a job and i didn't deliver.

Early February this year, a woman asked me to do a job for her sisters wedding. I promptly designed the paperbags for her and after she had made her selection of design, i quoted my price. I quoted 850 naira per bag. She beat down to price to 650 per bag and that price was almost the cost price. I had my eyes on other wedding souvenirs she might want to do so I didn't consider profit as far as the wedding paper bag was concerned. I however told her that she will need to mobilize me soon since the quotation we agreed on was subject to the present prices of materials in the market and prices were increasing daily.

Upon mobilisation, I bought a number of items needed for the bags. I also printed a mock up of the wedding paper bag and brought it for her to see. She complained about the picture of the couple saying it was not sharp enough. I told her that the issue was from the picture and i will need a high resolution version of the picture. It took her more than three weeks to get a high resolution picture across to me. In the meantime prices of materials were going up.

After using the new picture and seeing that it was okay, i informed her that additional cost increaseas had set in. An increase of 46k from the original quoted price. She then flared up and said i should refund her initial deposit. Of course, i had bought some materials already. I simply told her to give me time to sell off so i can make refunds. Thats where trouble started.

She has been constantly calling to harrass me and has even involved someone who works. In the DSS. This Dss man has been threatening to physically harrass me and have me locked up. I have gone to see him severally to explain my own side of the story and I have even made some repayment already with an outstanding of 57k left. He pointedly told me yesterday that if i dont provide the balance by 11am tommorow, he was going to have me locked up in their office and they'll have me dealt with severely.

I am at a loss. I have a wife and kids. I have clients who owe me but that money only comes at month end. I don't understand why the DSS should be involved in this matter. I also don't understand the constant harrassment. I did not eat the clients money as a matter of fact I added my own money to buy some of the things since the mobilization she gave money was not enough. I have never been locked up in my life before.

Lawyers in the house, I believe this matter is a purely civil matter and should not involve the Dss. Please what are my options?

Do you have his name? Contact DSS on Twitter. Or get someone to loan you 57k, pay her so you can have your peace back.

Take the matter to Twitter and escalate.. DM some influencers. No go DM agbado APC influencers o. Those ones would rather leave you to die than "embarrass" the government.

Just DM NEFERTITI and any Obidient influencer. Make sure you tag the official DSS handle.

Another thing you can do is to document your issue with the human rights office at any police station around you (but this would cost you some money). The woman would be invited under 48 hours.

Dss can never be involved in dis kind of issues except she just know d personal personally
Back to d topic I think reporting to d police is OK or get in touch with OPD in yur area and explain to them they will definitely invite d woman to hear her version

where's your location? DSS doesn't get themselves in civil matter except police.
