Your IQ is too low...you spoke gibberish

Keep crying over the white man’s laws to protect his woman and offsprings, that don’t even concern you guys. Heck, you guys don’t even have laws to protect your offsprings, talk more of your spouses, but you are going to cry over the white man’s laws to protect his own?

And when the village people will kill the man, the family will chase the wife and children away and take over his property. One that happened near here. They are from Ebonyi State. The brother took over the shop and told the wife to stay at home, but car and start flexing, when hunger wan kill the woman, she brought her sick son to the shop to beg the boy for money, only for the boy to call his mom and that wan came and start abusing the woman and told her to back to her family. But her brother whom she stole money from to stand her husband didn't accept her back. No she went back to her village. Think before you act.

I heard the other side of the story and I was pissed myself... hakimi cheated on his wife in their matrimonial home.... if as a man you wanna cheat please not in the house... go outside atleast. Am sure the wife has been depressed ever since, the reason for the divorce is infidelity and not greed. Hakimi should bury his head in shame... this does not call for celebration undecided
it should have been d oda way round abi?

I feel for her though.

He is being accused of infidelity, which is common with rich guys.

He made a smart move, but he must settle her well before they split.

Why should a man settle a woman after splitting in the western world. I thought they practice equality there.

They don’t have laws like that here in Africa. You guys should take your fight to the Oyinbo women, and leave Nigerian women out of this.

My thoughts exactly? What is wrong with African Sportsmen sef?

When they were broke poor and useless, no European Last will fall in love with them. All of a sudden, you see them having foreign wives after Dem blow finish?

It was a very silly and unforgivable mistake what Hakimi did marrying a White Woman. Which kind love be dat sef. A woman that never played a single Match before in her life is now threatening to take half of his life and career savings just because of Marriage?

I think other African Sportsmen will take a cue from this. You fit Screw white ladies, Dem fit born pikin for you? But, as a sportsman wey don blow never you marry a white woman as she will one day wish to take half of all your estate.

Read the comments and know why I have zero empathy for any Nigerian dude. They want to be able to cheat on you, disrespect you and force you to stay with them through it. Most of you have that disgusting mindset and that’s why my empathy is never wasted on y’all.

Before you come saying “not all of them” I know. Lol. Save it.

This girl, U again
Always typing without making sense
If hakimis was poor, would she had looked his way. A culture that says a broke man deserves no woman has no right to tell him to stick to one woman when he becomes rich. U want respect as what, do u have money? You married a rich man for financial stability and fame and u dey demand respect. Rest abeg

It’s their culture. Most times they don’t mind. That’s why their men came up with that law to protect their women and children. It’s the African men that hate their women and children that see those types of law as draconian, that are busy crying all over social media on what does not even apply to them here in Africa, and being happy that one of theirs escaped the white man’s laws.

Okay. Beyond this, don't you think we need to improve conversation on who a good woman should be? It's unclear and too conditional

Nigerian women don’t hate Nigerian men. With the average mindset of a Nigerian man, it’s a miracle Nigerian women still put up with them. Talking about hate, they are the ones who hate women with every fiber of their beings and they don’t hide it.

The women are not allowed to actually acknowledge this fact or they are accused of playing victim.

If hakim’s wife was the rich one who signed her property to her mom, you won’t see Nigerian women all over the internet praising her.
All you need to do is post a video or article about something bad that happened to a woman to see them coming out in droves to rejoice. It’s appalling

i couldnt agree less, as a man whatever you do just get your priorities right and make you respect a woman that respect you.

Let those side chicks and mistress know that woman at home is special & off limit for rivalry, if you can't respect that i have a wife at home then bye bye

Fa.

A Nigerian dude will gladly foot your high maintenance bills if he can afford it.

Where they draw the line is the 50% split + spousal maintenance at the dissolution of a marriage. I'm sure if you organized a poll with five options, 0, 10, 15, 25, 50. Most correspondents will huddle between 10 and 25. Forget about spousal maintenance, no one wants that sh*t.

"Force you to stay" is hyperbole. Of course he'd want you to stay. Beg. Go on his knees even. A lot of the time, cheating partners--male or female--want the spouse to stay. That's why they're cheating. But if you insist on leaving, Sayonara. Preferably don't go with the kids. Go have a fun life with whomever. From his perspective, he'd do the same if he were in your shoes.

The touchy element is money and that is because of the economic disparity between the average couple. Which would not be an issue if people married within their economic class. But men continue to make this error while women rarely do.

The entire premise of modern Western divorce settlement legalese is to avoid the state picking up the bill for an adult dependent with little or no economic value.

It'd interest you to know that Nigerian law specifies financial protections and literate women with the means can absolutely take their spouses to court to secure asset splits and spousal maintenance. Lots of instances of this happening especially among the upper class.

Hell, even the Shiites in Iran have divorce settlements. Pretty steep. AFAIK, you give the woman her weight in gold or the cash equivalent when a divorce occurs. Some men wound up in jail for being unable to pay.

https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-middle-east-17147842

Apparently, there's a middle ground between ruin his life financially because the marriage is no longer working and let her rot in penury. And traditional, patriarchal, conservative societies are closer to cracking this than the progressive societies. Who knew?

So you can keep your empathy.

Your argument is that people want to have their cake and eat it. *scoff* No sh*t, Sherlock!

It's always got to be one of the extremes with you gals. The guys are up in arms about 50+% and spousal maintenance, so it must mean they don't want to part with anything.

I have very little empathy for Nigerian men. But for a different reason. Which I would not get into at this time.
