Who Go to Heaven?

God selects a limited number of faithful Christians who, after their death, will be resurrected to life in heaven. (1 Peter 1:3, 4)

Once they have been chosen, they must continue to maintain a Christian standard of faith and conduct in order not to be disqualified from receiving their heavenly inheritance.—Ephesians 5:5; Philippians 3:12-14.

What will those who go to heaven do there?

They will serve alongside Jesus as kings and priests for 1,000 years. (Revelation 5:9, 10; 20:6)

They will form the “new heavens,” or heavenly government, that will rule over the “new earth,” or earthly society.

Those heavenly rulers will help restore mankind to the righteous conditions that God originally intended.—Isaiah 65:17; 2 Peter 3:13.

How many will be resurrected to heaven?

The Bible indicates that 144,000 people will be resurrected to heavenly life. (Revelation 7:4)

In the vision recorded at Revelation 14:1-3, the apostle John saw “the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000.”

In this vision, “the Lamb” represents the resurrected Jesus. (John 1:29; 1 Peter 1:19)

“Mount Zion” represents the exalted position of Jesus and the 144,000 who rule with him in the heavens.—Psalm 2:6; Hebrews 12:22.

Those “who are called and chosen” to rule with Christ in the Kingdom are referred to as a “little flock.” (Revelation 17:14; Luke 12:32)

This shows that they would be relatively few in comparison with the complete number of Jesus’ sheep.—John 10:16.

Misconceptions about those who go to heaven

1) Misconception: All good people go to heaven.

Fact: God promises everlasting life on earth for most good people.—Psalm 37:11, 29, 34.

Jesus said: “No man has ascended into heaven.” (John 3:13)

He thus showed that good people who died before him, such as Abraham, Moses, Job, and David, did not go to heaven. (Acts 2:29, 34)

Instead, they had the hope of being resurrected to life on earth.—Job 14:13-15.

The resurrection to heavenly life is called “the first resurrection.” (Revelation 20:6) This indicates that there will be another resurrection. It will be an earthly one.

The Bible teaches that under the rule of God’s Kingdom, “death will be no more.” (Revelation 21:3, 4) This promise must apply to the earth, since death has never existed in heaven.

2) Misconception: Each person chooses whether he or she will receive life in heaven or on earth.

Fact: God determines which faithful Christians receive “the prize of the upward call,” that is, the hope of heavenly life. (Philippians 3:14) Personal desire or ambition has no bearing on a person’s being chosen.—Matthew 20:20-23.

3) Misconception: The hope of everlasting life on earth is an inferior one, offered only to those not worthy of going to heaven.

Fact: God calls those who will receive everlasting life on earth “my people,” “my chosen ones,” and “those blessed by Jehovah.” (Isaiah 65:21-23)

They will have the privilege of fulfilling God’s original purpose for humankind—everlasting life in perfection on a paradise earth.—Genesis 1:28; Psalm 115:16; Isaiah 45:18.

4) Misconception: The number 144,000 mentioned in Revelation is symbolic, not literal.

Fact: Although Revelation contains symbolic numbers, some of the numbers it uses are literal.

For example, it speaks of “the 12 names of the 12 apostles of the Lamb.” (Revelation 21:14) Consider the evidence for concluding that the number 144,000 should likewise be taken literally.

Revelation 7:4 records “the number of those who were sealed [or, confirmed for life in heaven], 144,000.”

In the immediate context of this verse, a second group is contrasted: “a great crowd, which no man was able to number.” Those of the “great crowd” also receive salvation from God. (Revelation 7:9, 10) If the number 144,000 were symbolic, referring instead to a group without number, then the contrast between the two groups would be lost.

In addition, the 144,000 are described as being “bought from among mankind as firstfruits.” (Revelation 14:4) The expression “firstfruits” refers to a small representative selection. It aptly describes those who will rule in heaven with Christ over an undetermined number of subjects on earth.—Revelation 5:10.

In conclusion not all good people go to heaven same as not everyone are rulers but only those selected by Jehovah god.The subject being the greater number will live here on Earth. The problems facing humans today on Earth would be eradicated.

The Bible has revealed it that's why people are preaching and teaching about God's plan otherwise there's no reason to preach about what God will do to either the good or wicked if we know nothing about the mind of God!

Here we go again.

Another weekend, another round of religious propaganda.

Here are some additional information the OP has purposely refused to mention:

1. These 144,000 people going to "heaven" are made up of mostly Jehovah's Witnesses. So if you're not a member of their religion, forget about it - you are not among these "special few" going to "heaven".

2. If you're not a Jehovah's Witness, you and billions of other people who are members of other religions will be killed by Jesus in the coming war of Armageddon.

As proof, here are some quotes from their own publications:

"Only Jehovah's Witnesses, those of the anointed remnant and the "great crowd," as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil." Watchtower 1989 Sep 1 p.19

"In fact, with God's day of judgment so near today, all the world should 'keep silent before the Sovereign Lord Jehovah' and hear what he says through the "little flock" of Jesus' anointed followers and their companions, his "other sheep." (Luke 12:32; John 10:16)

Annihilation awaits all who will not listen and who thereby set themselves against rule by God's Kingdom." Watchtower 2001 Feb 15 p. 14

"There are billions of people who do not know Jehovah. Many of them in ignorance practice things that God's Word shows to be wicked. If they persist in this course, they will be among those who perish during the great tribulation." Watchtower 1993 Oct 1 p.19

So if you're not a member of the Jehovah’s Witness organization, just know that you are on the path for destruction.

Please @Jokanem, next time when you're posting some these your theological propaganda, make sure you post EVERYTHING so that the general public has a complete picture of the idea you're trying to impress on their minds.

Cheers!

How many are in Abuja ruling over 200M Nigerians?

Well it's a limited number of Israelites that God foretold will rule with the Christ in Jerusalem {Isaiah 2:3; 9:6-7} while the whole earth will enjoy the benefits of God's Kingdom! Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Proverbs 2:20-22

Later ten tribes separated themselves from the government in Jerusalem that's why they're called "Samaritans" remaining just three southern tribes Judah, Benjamin and Levi these three are called "Jews" till today so when Jesus came he emphasized that he only had business with the Jews {Matthew 10:6; 15:24} because God has given only the Jews the privilege that the whole 12 supposed to enjoy! Zechariah 8:23

But the Jews rejected Jesus Christ after killing many of God's prophets in Jerusalem so Jesus declared that Jerusalem has been condemned {Matthew 23:37-38} and the privileged given to another nation {Matthew 21:43} when Jesus started tell his disciples all the evil that will befall their beloved city Jerusalem {Matthew 24:1-2} they became devastated that's why Jesus promised this few Jews that they shouldn't worry because he will go back to where he came from and PREPARE a place where they will stay with him and rule over the earth forever! John 14:1-3

So heaven wasn't part of God's plan from the beginning it was mainly created for spirit beings while earth is man's permanent home {Psalms 115:16} but Jesus begged his father and God granted Jesus' request that's why a limited number is going with Jesus to heaven.

Note how Jesus put it in that Bible book of John 14:1-3 he is going to PREPARE this clearly shows that there was no preparation for humans to live in heaven before then that's why Jesus told his disciples that those going there can't live as humans anymore rather they will be transformed into angels! Luke 20:34-36 smiley

Your doctrine is not right at all

Heaven is meant for those who are washed by the blood of the lamb, and have kept themselves safe from sin.

You have to confess and forsake your sin by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour. The book of proverbs 3:28 says it all " whosoever covereth His sin shall not prosper but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." Follow peace with all men without which no man shall see the Lord."

It takes being born again and confessing your sins to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and living a righteous life that will take you to Heaven.

If our grand fathers didn't allow the whitemen to deceive them into abandoning their traditional religion to follow a strange story book called "bible", all this wouldn't have happen. Now you see, they are strugling to explain the whiteman's book but to no avail. Also, any Jw member you meet to ask about their beliefs and doctrine may not give you all the needed information for fear that you will know the unpleasant and their dark side. It is only those who have had firsthand experience with the group that will give you unbiased information about them.

So if he doesn't believe in Jesus and Bible like you then why capitalizing one just one religion instead of going straight to tell people what he thought about God?

We've been through this before nah! cheesy

You will expect the meaning your white supremacists infused in your dictionary while i will tell you the practical meaning of athiest.

An Athiest is anyone who doesn't believe in the ability of the supreme being to organize His worshipers. So atheists try to promote self realization yet they want to carry others along whereas they're the real problem of their own concept as they say nobody should agree with the idea of another person yet they want to tell others how to use their brains! cheesy

Because some people claimed they knew everything about god and his laws and that they are the only people who practiced the truth. Some people wanted to teach people about god while they themselves were hypocrytes. Such people still exist today

YES just as a young man claimed he knows all things about God and that whoever doesn't learn from him can't worship God acceptably {John 14:6} so his disciples were telling everyone exactly the same thing their leader said! 1John 4:3 cheesy
