From the ugly monster called insecurity through amagence of seccesionists to the disappointing rate of development in this country, every patriotic Nigerian believe that restructuring is the only solution, but anytime this agender is pushed forward by a sitting president or an individual, it faces stiff resistance from some people, understandably, no one is expecting a president from the northern extraction to restructure this country, so, we need a strong hearted, very good lobbyists from the south to achieve this very important agender, this is where tinubu comes in, those that think that tinubu will dance to the tune of the northern elites will be desapointed, I believe that all what he has been doing is biding his time, he has been a strong desiple of Awolowo and a strong believer in restructuring, every party he led has restructuring as it's major manifesto, the agenda of restructuring came into the apc manifesto because of tinubu's ACN, so I strongly believe that before his tenure elapses, he will definitely restructure this country to our own good

He's not a disciple of any Awo, stop lying. Awo was never a drug dealer nor was he ever nearly as corrupt.
The only thing is, it will be VERY HARD to beat Buhari in failure!

One thing I'm almost sure of is that he won't be the one calling the shots, the one doing the actual governing. The cabal will continue. His job will be to to try to appear in public time to time, appear as if he had a hand in governing

It depends on what you mean by restructuring.

Buhari has actually recently passed some laws which can be classed as restructuring. An example is that law he assented to last month that means States can now generate and distribute their own electricity.

That is a major win.

I would think Tinubu would look at other areas, including state police, though I am not convinced that's necessarily a good thing at this point.

It also depends on what you mean by restructuring.

If restructuring to you means states having full control over resources in their territory, no Nigerian president can make that happen because the National Assembly will not agree to pass a law to that effect.

If you want regionalism, no Nigerian president will put that on the list of their preferences. Not only is their no widespread support for it, it will make the present ethnic tension worse. Do you think for example that people in Ekiti state will now agree to be governed not by a Governor in Ado Ekiti but a regional Premier based in Ibadan. I don't think so.

Really, a Nigerian President doesn't have the sole power to undertake major restructuring.

That said, I expect Tinubu to push some changes that supports decentralisation of more power to States.

Finally, I think we need to be realistic about what Tinubu can achieve. Rebuilding Nigeria after several years of economic, political and social degeneration is going to be a slow painful process. There is no magic wand anywhere.

Good but he can lobby his way through to achieve regional government, I believe so

This is not a matter of "may", we won't be disappointed in his Presidency.

I think regional government now will lead to even more problems and finally lead to the break up of Nigeria which is ok if that's what people want.

Since the regions will be drawn along largely tribal boundaries (particularly SW & SE), it will strengthen tribal corporate identity in a negative way even more than it is presently.

This will lead to even more tribal crisis.

And where do you reckon the regional capital of a culturally disparate region like the NC, and even the NE will be located.

Will people in Kwara agree to be governed from a regional capital based in Jos with Ilorin effectively becoming a local government headquarters.

These are real issues that advocates of regionalism need to consider.
