A Wakeup Call To All Igbos by Jones4190(m): 9:16am On Apr 21, 2023
In 1949, in the build up to independence, a letter written by Late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe was leaked by a radio station, where he claimed God has chosen only Igbos to rule Nigeria, and no other tribe. The rest of the Country kept quiet. After the 1959 elections, he betrayed Pa Awolowo and the Yorubas and went to form government with the North because, to him, the Yorubas were too smart and would be difficult to handle, but the Northerners were 'abokis' and don't know anything. But those 'abokis' still remembered that 1949 letter, and were waiting. They dangled President at him instead of Prime Minister, oga accepted, afterall 'they're 'abokis' and have no sense and I will be in charge'. Then Ghanaian President, Kwame Nkrumah screamed when he heard Zik was going to be a Ceremonial President. Meanwhile, from the arrangement with Awo, he would be PM.

The 'abokis' would later put Zik in his place as real CEREMONIAL PRESIDENT that he is, while Tafawa Balewa ran the show.

The young Igbo military officers saw what Zik did as a mistake, and it was the bid to correct that mistake that led to the January 15,1966 coup. Again the 'abokis' waited for Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi to punish those responsible for the killings but he didn't. The 'abokis' believe that it was because they were his kinsmen. And on July 29,1966 the 'abokis' carried out a bloody counter coup, during which Aguiyi Ironsi was killed. Different events will happen after that including the civil war.

In recent years came agitations like MASOB and later, Nnamdi Kanu and his IPOB. All these, most especially that of IPOB, are against every other parts of Nigeria excluding that part they, in their warped mind, carved out as Biafra land, including my own Ughelli. We saw the abuse of leaders from the North and South West most especially on a daily basis by Kanu and his gang, while the elders and leaders of the SE looked away.

But when Arewa youths got tired and gave Igbos in the North quit notice, most of the leaders in the North, the 'abokis' that weren't civilised as we have been constantly told, stood up against them, and told the Igbos that they're Nigerians and are free to live anywhere. Nobody is moving. That quit notice died a natural death. This was something Igbos couldn't do.We were all witnesses to the killings in the SE of Northerners, sometimes stealing their goods and burning down their trailers. Yet, Igbo leaders kept quiet, including the present day 'HERO,' Peter Obi, who has even tacitly defended Nnamdi Kanu, his IPOB/ESN.

Elections came, he got involved and to him, it was a 'RELIGIOUS WAR.' He travelled from one Church to another calling on Christians to take back their Country. In places like Lagos, he campaigned in areas dominated by his kinsmen. And elections came and he lost. It is still same drama. I understand some would argue, it wasn't only Igbos that voted for him, but the truth is the entire campaign was based on ethnicity and religion, and it showed clearly in the results of the elections. Those who weren't Igbos that voted for him did so because they bought into that religious blackmail.
All that coupled with the actions of the likes of Chimamanda, points in just 2 directions, religion and ethnicity.

The thing is at a point as human beings we must sit down and talk to ourselves in the quietness of our bedrooms. And I think if you have followed same pattern of seeing others as inferior to you, seeing every other person as your problem, and always pointing accusing fingers at others since even before 1949, this is 2023. It is long time enough for you to sit in your bedrooms and think. Ask yourselves, how every other tribe can be bad and only you good? How can every other tribe be inferior and you superior? How can every other tribe hate you like you claim? Ask yourselves questions. Query yourselves.

Politics is building bridges, making friends beyond ethnic and religious divides. That was why the late MKO Abiola defeated his opponent, Tofa, in his home State of Kano. That was why he won massively with his Muslim/Muslim ticket even among Christians. But today, somebody is telling us of a religious war, like even the Christians love themselves.

One thing that is most annoying is some of us allowing these set of the 4th Republic politicians to divide us along ethnic and religious lines. Yet we can't even see that they're doing it not for our good but their own selfish interests. For everything that happens today, there must be a religious, ethnic, or political connotations.

Imagine Ohaneze's reactions to the purported arrest of Peter Obi at Heathrow. I can understand the headless mob reactions, but Ohaneze? No way. How in the world would anybody think PO was being set up? By who? And how? Who do these people think we are? Some baboons?

I would love to be educated how a biometric Passport with fingerprints and biometric identities can be impersonated. Common. PO is not above the Law. If he is in Nigeria, he is not in the UK.

It is high time to pause and think. If you have been doing things same way, following same pattern since 1949 and it hasn't worked, you should know by now it won't work in 2023 or beyond. The Igbos cannot pretend they're hated by all other tribes in Nigerians, yet they stay among these tribes, do their businesses and progress.

Why are idiots advising up and down?

You don't even have your mental capacity to reason but to copy and paste nonsense.

Igbo voted for Obasanjo, a Yoruba man.
They voted for Yar Adua, Northerner
They voted for Goodluck, Ijaw man.
They voted for Atiku, another northerner.

If you think Igbo people are their problem, then your brain needs to be formatted.
