Most times I walked across streets in Nigeria, I can help but feel sad for the sorry states of the most basic amenities or lack of it.

Very dirty roads which are very poorly constructed to begin with by 'wheelbarrow and shovel construction companies' that are usually either owned by the same politians, their friends or family. You will find thousands of populace without a single borehole like I recently watched in Minna, Niger state. You begin to wonder what the leaders responsible for providing water for their people are doing with their time year in, year out.

You will go in some town at night and you will think there is no soul in it because of the extreme darkness you met cause by the lack of adequate electricity, just as I find in Lokoja, Kogi State now, a particular section of the town enjoys more than 20 hours of electricity daily while the other section are left with very little or no light, speak of "some animals been more equal than others".

What wrong with people who call themselves our Leaders? What wrong with us?
In the last election we all saw "youths" clamoring for and supporting a candidate who as little or no show of quality leadership. Ascribing to him our political messiahship. Then and there I knew we are far from been ready, far from telling ourself truth. Because if we are ready, there were more credible and even more youthful candidate that has shown consistency, perseverance and more importantly desire for effective change not the change we were promised the other time, that is deserving of our massive support. Unfortunately, the same "youths" ignore this candidate.

It shouldn't be this bad! It shouldn't be this wicked O' our Honourables without honour. We can do better, we should do better. Alas! As Tuface put it: "repentance no dey their plan o, ..."

All I have been seeing and hearing are mostly just brilliant talks and talks on TV shows, papers, blogs etc but no work or too little work or work, lacking popular support of the "youths".

Now people! What's the way forward? How do will starts having dividents of good governance, starting from our streets, schools, hospital, police stations? etc.

God bless Nigeria or perhaps God help Nigeria because I believed it's already blessed.

Barka da Sallah!
