Barr Magaji said Eid'l Fitri (Feast of Ramadan) is not just an occasion to celebrate our month-long sacrifice of fasting from dusk to dawn and self-purification but also to introspect and reflect on the degree to which we have brought ourselves closer to the true tenets of Islam.

It is a time for us to ask ourselves how much we've helped our society's disadvantaged and less fortunate members. It is not enough for us to be empathetic of their plight; we must serve the people and contribute to the collective well-being.
