Barcelona moved 11 points clear at the top of La Liga with a thumping victory against Real Betis on Saturday.

Real Betis were up against it from the start as Andreas Christensen opened the scoring before even 14 minutes had been played.

Raphinha picked out the Danish defender with a chipped cross towards the back-post, and Christensen duly nodded home into the bottom right corner of the net.

Real Betis‘ task got even more difficult in the 33rd minute when Edgar Gonzalez was shown a red-card.

He made a poor challenge and was shown a second yellow-card which led to his dismissal.

Barcelona made it 2-0 three minutes after the sending-off, as Lewandowski gave himself a two-goal lead over Karim Benzema in the Pichichi standings with a powerful finish from inside the penalty area.

Lewandowski’s snapshot hit the post just before the hour mark, however Guido Rodriguez scored an own-goal eight minutes from time to secure Barcelona’s heavy margin of victory.
