Even at that, cooking is stressful. A man cooking twice daily is somehow. Let's say, you cook one cup of rice in the morning, and also cook two cups of beans again at night. Waste of gas and resources. It's better you cook rice and beans together and run them through out the day.

My grandmother had an avocado tree in her compound when I was a kid which she would feed us from during the summer months, and this was way back in the 80s.
