mizzhathaway: Even here in the north, there are loads of beautiful Yoruba and Igbo ladies everywhere. I was born, bred and educated in the north and I would not visit Yoruba Land until I was posted for NYSC in Ogun state. I met several beautiful Yoruba ladies in Ogun state. It is obvious you are not Yoruba. It is also very obvious that you have never travelled out of the region you grew up in. I have worked in Lagos and Ibadan and there are so many beautiful ladies in all of the Yoruba cities I have been. Your mannerism probably gives you off more as an Igbo lady. |

Samantha124: Yes, there a few of us are around here, but we sort of just blend in without making a big deal about our identities, and I prefer it that way. I have not bothered with our forums for a long time (long story) and I wouldn't advise you to join any of them (long story). I really do not want to hijack the OP's thread, so maybe we can continue this discussion elsewhere? I'll mention you on another (more relevant) thread to discuss this. Have a good evening. |

stuffs2002:Now this is getting interesting So you are actually serious right now? π π What a joke. I've never travelled out of where I grew up.? If not for uniben, I won't have ever had any reason to step out of the west bro. If not for anonymity I'd have told you my native name sef. oh but then of course, you won't believe lolz Keep being defensive and presumptuous there. 1 Like |

mizzhathaway: I really don't know what gave you the impression that there are no Yorubas outside Yorubaland. Here in the north, I have always had Yorubas as classmates from primary school up to masters level. What I'm telling you in plain and simple English is that, you don't even have to travel down south before meeting beautiful Yoruba ladies. I thought these SE people who have been masquerading as people of other regions supporting Peter Obi will stop at politics. Your true identity would be revealed if I asked for your account number.

youngsahito:it is not a matter of believe but facts,I am from imo state and I live there,I have been to many Yoruba states, communities and interior villages due to the nature of my work,it is from my observation a matter of genetics that will make a very high percentage of girls in ondo state to look average while in my state you will effortlessly see exotic and beautiful woman at every nook and cranny, even the small one still going to primary and secondary schools are sights to behold,to a man that has spent many years in ondo state,it will be a shock if he finds himself in imo state, our girls and women are simply beautiful. 2 Likes |

okoroemeka:so you are telling me that you never see any lady in Ondo state that caught your attention. Only fair ibo ladies are always beautiful and I disagree that all ibo ladies are beautiful. |
Re: Is Being Yoruba The Opposite Of Being Beautiful? by mizzhathaway: 9:43pm On May 04, 2023 |
okoroemeka:And "Ondo girls" are not sheyy π Anyways as I said before sha, beauty is subjective. I was born and bred in this same Ondo. Even if you think they are not... it's still very slighting when people indirectly tell others they are not supposed to look pretty cos they are from the place you thought people don't look good that's just the point I've been trying to make.. I'm not measuring who's assumed "prettier". It's getting more annoying each time someone says it. |

This is called the law of averages. The average fulani has a look The average Igbo has a look The average Yoruba has a look Even the average Cross river/ Akwa person has a look. I'm not going to say much as this is a sensitive issue. If lots of people tell you that you look like a particular tribe, it is because people have eyes to see and they also perceive what the average person in each tribe looks like. There is no point for OP to be concerned. If you are perceived to look like someone from a tribe that most of your country people perceive as good -looking accept it with grace and go about your business. 1 Like |

mizzhathaway:You have a good opinion, however the majority of the world believes that the lighter person is the finer person. And in Africa, the yellow people take preference. There is a reason why the team foreign women is growing, there is a reason why northern men will marry a Shuwa Arab woman after amassing a lot of money. There is a reason why most Nigerian men go for fairer ladies and you know the highest proof that yellow is perceived as fine is right here in this link https://tribuneonlineng.com/nigeria-ranked-1st-in-cases-of-bleaching-in-africa-nafdac/ 1 Like |
