Reports from the UK court has it that Senator Ike Ekweremadu has been sentenced to serve a jail term of nine years and eight months while his wife is to serve four years and six months.
Also the, doctor who facilitated the attempted harvesting of the the kidney of the igbo young man has been sentenced to ten years in prison.

This judgment comes as a surprise to many as several efforts were made by several eminent individuals and institutions pleading for leniency on the behalf of the Ekweremadu's.

This is definitely a difficult time for those involved in this dramatic incident.
