The United Nations Habitat Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Dr. Raymond Edoh has bagged the 2023 International Humanitarian Icon award under the balcony of StirAfrika organization.



The organization whose primary scope of duty is within the Goals 1, 2, and 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, under the leadership of Amb. Efe Ekure while making the award presentation in Abuja on Tuesday lauded the efforts of Dr. Raymond Edoh in youth empowerment and emancipation stressing that his wealth of wisdom and unique leadership prowess has not only added value to him but to other younger youths who may have by rear privy sat under his tutelage and have experienced the dynamic charismatic style of attitudinal approach to issues, strategic way of reasoning and an unexplainable think-tank hub of proffering solutions to technical issues of national interest and in the private sector.
"I can't forget what you did during the last program of ours that you attended, where you donated three hundred thousand naira (300,000) to supply rise to the orphanage. Which we did and sent you pictures. Your lecture that day was so amazing. I remember telling myself that this guy has a Prado Jeep as such I can have one too, after seeing you. And then, I never had a car. But after seeing you, being inspired, I bought 2 Prado Jeeps in 6 months and we have embarked on lots of humanitarian activities since then. I appreciate you a lot for inspiring me, Your Excellency," he said.

Reacting to the gesture (award), " As I receive this award I want everyone to know that there is no point in life that is a waste. Most especially anything you're doing that has to do with humanity. So, I am so happy and I want to encourage every young person also to keep fit in contributing his or her quarter in changing their generation.


"I love anything, Africa. For me, Africa represents freedom, and when I see young people coming together to define something, most especially something that has to do with freedom. For me, it is a yes, yes. I was talking with a few people Yesterday, I had a meeting with them and I said I will always work with you on one condition. If only what you're doing is going to be for the benefit of humanity".

While appreciating the leadership of the organization, he assured the body of his continuous support as he urged them to keep up in the good work.


Speaking further, Edoh charged the incoming government to grant the youths the opportunity to serve in it's governm t in other to feel carried along in the affairs of governance.
