What of the situation where your smart neighbor is connected to your change over line?.
The better way is to troubleshoot, disconnect and remove his cables every week, make lots of noise about his stealing from your power source to neighbors and tell them to watch out for his nefarious activities.

Maybe your generator noise is disturbing him or her.
If your generator is disturbing him or her and they have told you about it and you fail to take the nose out of their hearing ,if I m your neighbor walahi I will tap from the current then when you do your worst you will be ask to remove it from my surroundings to be free of noise.

Your generator can't be disturbing me and you are claiming I m tapping your current in nairaland .

If your generator is disturbing your neighbor there are many ways your neighbor can use to damage the generator but this tapping of current seems to be the best solution your neighbor can bring,thumb up to him.

If you fry his or her appliances just know your generator will spoil soon too so use wisdom

This is how the northerns and other Nigerians are using Niger delta crude to develop their region the region will be getting the negative side of the activity, then they will be chasing youth who are indigenes of those places that they are tapping oil pipelines.

Don't mind him jare, except you are using Tiger generation or generator that uses capacitor highing the gen won't fry appliances becos most generarors from medium uses AVR

I remember giving my neighbor generator light, he has very small load and knew my gen won' sweat it, To me it is nothing but i don't just like the idea he did it behind your back

How much is the gen? Na small ibetter pass my neighbour?🙄 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏽‍♀️ Even if its 30k generator but you determined to teach the stupid neighbour a lesson💪💪💪,
Invest in one of these CCTV 13k or so range even if na made in Aba with less than 6montghs functionality assurance; install it quickly or consult cctv shop for cheapest option available. Ensure the area is well lighted. ([ can place a temporary bulb on ya corridor or outside if needed, without disclosing intentions. To anybody.)

Install it.

Before lweek to 2weeks maximum, you will obtain video evidence of him tapping from ur generator. Ensure u obtain hard core irrefutable video evidence to make the police and lawyers work easier in convicting him to pay for damages.
Without evidence/proof, u on wild goose chase with olokpa & the flawed justice system .⚖️


P.S.
If you want to add this advice & approach him on (fake friendly tone) to let him know u are aware of his unathorised behaviour,
◼️Only do that afer u have obtained concrete secret video evidence. Dont let him know about the video . Just talk to him casually
◼️Aim is to ensure u have a secret voice recorder🎙--ur phone/sth to Clearly Record the entire confrontation without him knowing. He will likely admit guilt and beg or sth away from prying eyes of police.
-- Get him to admit guilt of the offense and apologise. Record everything with voice recorder.

Most standard gen comes with automatic voltage regulator so increasing the engine speed does not necessarily increase voltage.

I was thinking of this too.

Slide go where? Somebody tapped light without permission,you are saying he should let it slide.

Op,meet an electrician that will show the trick to blow off whatever he is connecting to your generator,while doing so make sure you put off appliances in your apartment. No need to spend your money on case,na him go spend money on his appliances.
