This is really sad. Now I know why most techies are relocating. I personally even with my 1yr of experience have faced this location issue. There was a time I almost got a role with a software development company in Berlin but the guy said I have to be based in the EU, like he said the job is available, but he can't hire outside the EU, I was really pained .
The second time it was for a very good design agency in Poland, I was eventually ghosted when they found out I'm a Nigerian. I was thinking of striving to get a really good remote job and keep living in Nigeria but seems I'll be reconsidering my options now
