What is retirement planning? Retirement planning means preparing today for your future life so that you continue to meet all your goals and dreams independently. This includes setting your retirement goals, estimating the amount of money you will need, and investing to grow your retirement savings.
I think one of the best retirement plan is planting of cash crop trees eg cocoa , coconut,palm tree, oranges and bitter kola. But for me I will go with bitter kola, currently a kg of bitter kola is around 20$-25$. The tree is easy to maintain compare to palm tree and others... I could remember what my father use to spend to trim the head of his palm trees every year and the stress of getting someone to help him out . Demand(both locally and internationally) for for bitter kola is on the high side that can never be met.
And with help of improved seedling, bitter kola can start fruiting by 3-4yrs and gets to its full potential by 7-8yrs

Is the bitter kola tree a big one? Like the native pear tree?

My biggest problem with orchards and perennials is land ownership problems especially if you are not an indigene of your community............
You suffer for 3 to 5 years nuturing trees and viola @ the 5th year you start battling with one family after another( woe betide you if its cocoa or cashew)
Please help me touch light this issue

If you can afford to buy from trusted sources or reputable land vendor like adron..you won't have problem
