Although he is disappointed they failed to grab the maximum possible points, Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi was happy with his team's performance, which he said went according to plan.

The former Liverpool man scored twice as Nottingham Forest held Chelsea to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, taking them four points clear of the closest rival in the drop zone.

The Ilorin-born striker gave Steve Cooper's side a 13th-minute lead, rising highest and heading past Mendy before a double by Raheem Sterling in the 51st and 58th minutes grabbed an equaliser and subsequently took the lead for Chelsea.

The 25-year-old will not let his team go down without a fight, though, connecting with an Orel Mangala delivery to restore parity and earn them a big point away from home.
