Only Calabar and Igbo people are capable of surviving in the kitchen bussing out such a variety of dishes that long (and not just in an African sense but across the globe). I guarantee it. Sha, we get wonderful Igbos and Akwa Ibom folks bussing out their food-hustles low-key and doing awesome tings all over the globe but reserve and/or humility (if they have that kind of social demeanour) and sometimes being overshadowed in number by other types of people won’t allow people get to know them well and have the measure of their phenomenal skills and capabilities. Or they are fully aware of just how good they are but envy won’t just have them admit it.

Jealous Yorubas, Edos, Hausas and Fulanis should step aside and shut their mouths. Their protracted ewedu, black soup and tuwo-shinkafa exploits are unknown.

Hilda baci ain't shit.

No. She’s THE shit. You get these silly, awful white people gaslighting these people to hell and back while they pattern themselves with baked beans and half-cooked scrambled eggs on a Tuesday evening and tribalistic Nigerians from other parts of the country laying into their ethnicity low-key (if it’s not envious Igbophobia it’s stereotypes about Ibom-Cross-River people and even some marginalisation) but at the end of the day the cooking show between afang, ofe-onugbu, coconut rice, nkwobi and beechwood-smoked jollof rice has to go on. No-one out-cooks Igbos and Calabars in Africa. No-one. And every Nigerian knows that deep-down, whether they admit it or not.

She was posted on CNN official Instagram account a while ago, which was really great.
But the comment section was really irritating! It got flooded by Nigerians as you would expect. But Instead of enjoying the moment as Nigerians, some were busy attacking everyone... playing the race card, accusing the international community of not giving her enough recognition because she was black and African. Seriously?

I don't understand how we think sometimes, why are we making this too much of a big deal? Hilda baci did an amazing job no doubt... She got her message out there too.. she showed the world that there are still positive things about Nigeria, She showed the world the Naija vibes and how supportive Nigerians can be. So we are proud of her... I'm personally proud of her.

But guys please stop overreacting. I don't know exactly what you guys think she did.
Bro... She cooked for 100 hours non stop. which is amazing and not an easy task to accomplish.. So she did great!
But she is not the first person to do something like that ok, alot of people have already done that in the past... but only slightly fewer hours. Remember say na another person record she dey break like this! And she probably won't hold it forever. (Infact The way you guys are going about this whole thing, person fit vex smash that record much more sooner)
So stop acting like she did something "un-doable"...... stop acting like they should hand her over King Charles crown... Or name her among Albert Einstein and Da Vinci.
Na only cook she cook it's not like she just discovered the cure for cancer!

Mek we just dey calm down a

If Tinubu who’s wanted by USA for drug trafficking can have supporters then Hilda should have a crazy supporters too

At least Hilda’s award was transparent and ghost figures wasn’t added to her by INEC by 2am midnight

Hilda’s fans has a bragging rights at least they know Hilda’s classmates, age, state of Origin, parents & siblings, her source of income, her certifications etc

Moreover she stood up for days without peeing on her body and sniffing cocaine

O boy, why you dey vex?

It's high time Nigerians focus their minds on things that will benefit their future. Cooking for 200 hours would not add any benefits to my being or add extra money to my bank account so let's not exaggerate the matter as as their are many hidden and unknown talents that can do better than that. Nigeria and it's citizens are facing stiffer challenges than the talk of who holds the record for the longest cooking hours

Even Peter Obi who I thought was saner than other politians had to flow with the tide. The same GWR people in other countries are receiving everyday without noise. I was really disappointed.

Nigerians can do too much.
It is the same kind of oversabi annoying things that went to the page of the chef who was the Wolrd Record holder Before Our Darling Hilda,
You need to see all manner of rubbish they were writing on her page, despite she was one of the first people to congratulate Baci.
Saying she was only making sandwich 🥪 bla bla.

There are up to 40,000 records in the Guinness Book ranging from nature at its extreme to absolutely ridiculous acts.
Fascinating though, but I am sure the rest of the world are bewildered at our mad hysteria.

The rest of the world will hear that a whole country of 200 million people are celebrating GWR that their kids use to read for fun in school. They will never understand no matter how hard you try to explain to them. It is simply unbelievable. Nigerians have gone mad

The answer is very simiple

Nigerians normally pay attention to things that deserve little attention

The more reason why we are moving backward in this part of the world
This is absolute truth.

I was wondering when governors, president was sending messages, going there.

Like what is happening, how is it a national concern for you?

It is a personal record which she deserve for the effort she put.

I'm now convinced that Nigerians tend to despise others when they're not the ones in the spotlight

That's what makes the "record" ridiculous - it is NOT only women. You KNOW men generally have higher endurance level than women

It is VERY irritating to anyone with a brain.
I'd understand it if she won even a local cooking competition of best tasting food.
But this is something that has NOTHING to do with cooking but standing and not sleeping.
Is there really anybody that believes Hilda can do that longer than most men and women in, say, Lagos??

Yeah she did well. But I do feel she could have even done better by highlighting a worth cause like a charity for domestic violence, homelessness or orphanages etc. She also could have invited children from impoverished communities to come and eat for free..probably would have set another world record for cooking and feeding the most children in one sitting...She try sha.
