The organizers are a reflection of mediocrity bedeviling the movie industry in Nigeria. They don't understand what theatric is all about.

The prospective winner in any movie ( usually lead actors) should not only interprete it's specific roles well, but should reflect the entire movie. (Directors of movies help a lot in this regard) so it's like a team work.
I'll give examples;
* at scene 1 of the trade, blossom was being chased by kidnappers, but was caught, he did two guess works by asking the guys if they worked for X (no reply) , he then cracked the code for another name, which he got.
That scene 1 already gave an insight of the entire movie, of a 'trade' run by different cartels
* The movie producers told us it was based on real life events, and the lead actor didn't disappoint at the final scene too by remaining calm, when he was being surrounded by special forces(you could feel adrenaline rush on his face )

I love Tobi and Brotherhood, but I believe that Chidi Mokeme should have won that award. Chidi (Scar of Shantytown) had a more complicated character, which he interpreted excellently.

That is why he is appearing in the finalist.

Chidi Mokeme acted his role to perfection in Shanty Town that I couldn't see him differently after that particular role.

He succeeded in completely erasing the memories of the soft gentleman I grew up knowing.

He was the reason I saw the movie.

But Shanty Town is also one of the reasons I'm saying "never again" to certain movies.

Nigerians love bandwagon. They worship popular movies with mass appeal. Tobi didn't even deserve the nomination if we're being honest cos he didn't even give the best performance in his film. Basketmouth, Sam Dede, OC Ukeje and Toni Tones left him in the dark. He was only better than Falz (I still don't buy him as an actor) and Dorathy. Dude was just the same the entire time with his forced charisma reading some poorly written lines. I think I'm the only person who doesn't believe his hype.

Chidi and Blossom were the deserving ones here. Blossom's final moment alone is better than everything Tobi did in Brotherhood.

The Trade isn't on Netflix.

I think henceforth, this award should be left for professionals to do the voting just like football.

Same way I see chidi's performance in shanty town just above average, maybe because of the extreme long screen time due to the movie been a series, chidi's performance became monotonous and predictable, the hype about his performance was just because of his long hiatus from the movie industry, as for me his performance was just above average.

Tobi is a good actor and I don't really know where your sentiments is coming from but he is a very good actor but you are right about one thing, blossom deserves the best actor for his performance in the trade, it has been long I see a Nigerian actor deliver such quality.
