Very long sentence:

Buhari took over when oil prices were falling and the demand for forex was increasing. He knew that the best way to reverse the problem was to basically end fuel subsides, end power subsides, and raise the amount of money raised from taxes...which would have put our fiscal house in order.

But because that means hardship, and is politically expensive....he chose to rely more on loans( we were going to end up taking loans anyway, but we got too too reliant on loans)...to buffer the facade that we could have things for cheap, while waiting for oil to rise.

The problem with Nigerian leaders is simple. They do not have the courage to take hard decisions to pull us out of the economic doldrums we are in....because they love power too much. They also use corruption to get themselves into power and stay in power.

I guess tinubu would just continue from where Buhari left off.

We better face reality, that we cannot afford to buy a ferrari for just N2000.
