Looking For An Igbo Name For My Baby Boy by Gera1980(f): 3:05pm On Sep 28, 2011
Hello to all of you.

As some of you might know I am married to an Igbo man. Beginnig of next year I am going to deliver a baby boy. My husband and I decided, that both of us should write a list of about 10 to 15 names we could possibly dub our baby. And then we will share our thoughts.

My husband as well as his sibling and friends (I know) all have an Igbo name plus an "international" name. And I really like the sound of the Igbo names. So I would like to go for the same for our baby. I would really appreciate if someone could help me with the Igbo part. I am looking for something like "With God everything is possible" or "God can do everything" or similar.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Best,
Geraldine

Ifeanyichukwu-nothing is impossible with God

Gera1980, I asked you of something in the past, but you never got back to me.

@Gera.
You may give him my son's name-Osisioma.
Osisioma is a tree of life, fruithful tree, tree that provides shelter, tree that provides branches, tree that provides wealth etc.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions - i like all of them smiley

@nusdog: Have you had another name then? I don't remember your name at all. I thought I always answered everything. What was it you asked me? If you don't want to talk about it here, please send me an e-mail.

Traditional names:

mba nu, which gods? chukwukadibia = God is greater than 'dibia' (native or orthodox doctor). that's my name nd briefly indicates faith in God to heal despite application of the doctor's medicine, etc.
