Putting Tinubu in the league of MKO and Awolowo while excluding the likes of Obansanjo all in the name of Yoruba tribalism is actually a bad omen for Tinubu. Abiola and Awolowo are actually controversial leaders. None of them actually completed their tenure. It's either they were impeached or they went to jail during/before their tenure or they were murdered before they got their mandate.
Exactly.

What you wrote above shows how mentally depressed and deranged a man can become if he is out of his senses due to frustration. There is no need for a proof that you are an IBO, no wonder you reason like that. You said Awolowo and Abiola are controversial leaders. You said they excluded Obasanjo. You mentioned Yoruba tribalism. The person that put up the chronological order of political events of great Yoruba leaders knows what he did. The Yorubas understood the message. To the Yorubas, it is a reflection of Courage, resilience and intelligence and not that of propaganda, empty noise and foolishness. After all, great men have purpose while others have only wishes.

Your days of reckoning are numbered.

I don't know much about Awo, so I won't write much about him. All I know is that he gave free education to the SW and lost his presidential ambition to shagari.

As for MKO, IBB had no plans of relinquishing power to a Southerner that's why he canceled the June 12 election. MKO's biggest error was ordering Gen Abacha to step down and calling his government an illegal one. If he had just waited patiently and not confront the military, who knows, Gen Abdusalam might have handed over to him in 1999 and not Obasanjo.

Tinubu reminds me of one proverb that used to reign during my university days when I newly gained admission. They'll say... "Person way de read na him serious, person way pass na him know book" this proverb as I came to understand was meant for those who were ready to do whatever it takes to pass their courses, copying, impersonation, sorting...etc. So when the results are out and you see one unserious student clearing all his courses, don't be surprised.

Tinubu is like an average Nigerian student who was ready to do whatever it takes to pass his courses. He won this election because he understood exactly how Nigerian politics is played, and got down into the mud to wrestle with his opponents.

I didn't vote for him, but whether I like it or not, he's going to be my president for the next 4 years. So I wish him all the best and pray that he makes Nigerians have cause to smile.

Point of correction, Tinubu can never be like your typical average student in the University. He is a first class brain, remember, First class brain. Ok. Good.

What do you mean by "awo political stock"?

So any Yoruba man who is not of "awo political stock" doesn't deserve to govern nigeria?

What happened to Awo in 1963 and how does it relate to what happened to Abiola of 1993?

Was Abiola of "Awo political stock/family"??

Check online for the AG/UPN manifesto. That was the first place anything like free education, school feeding programme, women empowerment, free heathcare, rural integration, agricultural boards, commodity exchange etc was ever mentioned and fully implemented anywhere in Nigeria....The SDP and AD manifesto was very similar and the bearers somehow had ties to the UPN leaders. Even Abiola that wasn't a UPN man, had his SDP filled with UPN elements.

Of all the manifesto and government plan ever implemented in Nigeria, that of the western region UPN still stands out. The correlation to now, is that Tinubu has traces his root to AD(a party founded by men who were in UPN and Awo's companions) ... As for Obasanjo, yes he is a bona-fide yoriba man but he wasn't yoruba's choice when he sought election and won in 1999. The yorubas who yearned for the UPN manifesto knew clearly that he isn't of that stock....he didnt even win his ward...

For yorubas,it isn't about tribe but alignment to the aspirations we cherish...

how many SW states in Nigeria have implemented this UPN and AG manifesto since 1999?

how does all these things you have written concern Abiola in 1993?

Obasanjo and Ernest Sonekan are Yorubas

Kikiiki. Envy na serious issues

Obasanjo Head of State 4years 70sGCFR
Ernest Sonekan GCFR
Obasanjo President 1999- 2007 8yearsGCFR
Osinbajo Vice President 2015-2023 8yearsGCON
Tinubu President GCFR

Tunde Idiagbon
Saraki
Dimeji bankole
Gbajabiamila
Olubunmi Etteh
.

Neither Obasanjo nor Shonekan are regarded as the executioners of the Yoruba mandate when it comes to national politics.
Any respect and regard they receive is just an act of giving honor to leadership.

Obasanjo did all he could to prevent both Awolowo and MKo from becoming Nigerians presidents because he concluded their personality would erase him from the records as the most consequential Yoruba man in modern history.

In 1963 he assisted the NPP to rig elections which brought in Shagari and in 1993 he famously denounced MKO as no saint and no savior, he was one of the individuals who pressed IBB to annul the elections.

We all know the lengths he went to prevent Tinubu from winning the elections.

Ernest Shonekan is not even considered amongst the Yoruba leaders of thought, a rather unfortunate reality for such a brilliant mind but the 1993 experience has rendered him so.

Tinubu took over the vacuum which was left by Awolowo when he with other formed ACN breaking away from AD which had entered an unholy alliance with OBJ in 2003, Osinbajo might have felt he had a right to inherit this coming from same town as the late sage and marrying his granddaughter but he lacks the sagacity and the political wit to do so; his time may come but he has much to learn.

God bless Chief Bisi Akande and Pa Fasoranti agba yin a daa'le

. One of the legacies of Awolowa was free education which he introduced in 1957. The scheme succeded in SW and that is why the region is more educated in Nigeria today (Apology to other regions)
All SW governors present or past beliwve in Awolowo's policies and that is why we ha e transformation in the region.
When we said a person is an Awoist it does not mean he walked and slept with Awolowo.
BAT , Aregbesola. Akande Bola Ige and many more South westerners are believers of Awolowo's principles. They can tightly be called Awoists!
