Good day everyone. when I start my car the battery light comes on but after I rev (warm the car well) the battery light goes. if I drive the car without warming it up well and the battery light is on the car can go off. what could be the problem?

The car is 2009 Chevrolet aveo

I don't think it has anything to do with the altanator. I had exactly same experience with 012 cruize. The problem didn't go away after changing the alternator. Although the main reason i had it changed was alternator failure resulting to drained battery and lack of power to run eletrical components, the battery light persisted even with the new alternator until after revving before going off. I had no idea how the problem was solved because i didn't indicate the problem to the mechanic for solution. But i think it was solved via random fix in the process of a routine total servicing. Even the mechanic seemed not to have a clue of the problem he solved after i informed him of how the battery dash light problem was gone for good. So, i don't think it should be a costly repair nor require changing alternator.

Thank you for your input, what do you think is the best course of action? Can it be managed? Should I scan or should I go for total servicing in the future?

I was able to use mine for about 4months before it was due for servicing and thankfully the problem was solved along with it. However, while i cannot assume that servicing the car alone would solve the problem because i am unsure how mine was solved, i would suggest you get someone who has the knowledge of your car to run a check and try to determine the root cause so as to avoid guess work that can potentially cause futher problems trying to rectify another.

Do u always go short distance, maybe ur battery needs to charge longer

Let a good electrician check your car, it can be caused by one open wire or the alternator is already weak

Lol, please the alternator isn't charging the battery at optimum capacity,you need to fix it quick,it can't be managed,you will soon need a battery replacement if it's not fixed quick.Your alternator is the first culprit, engine RPM is the 2nd,it practically needs a tune up.

Either your alternator or you check your fan belt

Any of the following can cause it:

Half charging alternator

Weak battery

Corroded battery terminal heads

No Alt current or it's insufficient due to wrong wiring.
