The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, has congratulated the Senior Correspondent of the Vanguard Newspapers and National Ex-Officio of NUJ, Comrade Festus Ahon on his well deserved appointment as the Chief Press Secretary(CPS) to the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.


In a press statement signed by the body’s Chairman , Comrade Michael Ikeogwu and the Secretary, Comrade Patrick Ochei said Comrade Ahon has proven his mettle in the journalism practice as a distinguished professional in all aspects of the profession, including character and ethical conduct saying, the Union is proud of him as an active and loyal member of the great body in the state for which he was appointed as the National Ex-officio of NUJ in the administration of Comrade Comrade Chief Christopher Isiguzo.

Part of the statement reads:”We, indeed ,commend the amiable and media friendly Governor for this extension of a hand of fellowship to the NUJ, just immediately after being sworn-in as the Executive Governor of Delta State”.

Still waiting for the city boy in Aso Rock to make his first appointment.

At least as a new president, the first set of aides to be appointed should be the Media aides and spokes person and Mr city boy is yet to appoint any.
